I always seem to have spots on my chin and pores that never seem to unclog properly, in spite of my strict diet and regular facial cleaning. I use Vichy Normaderm cleanser and a facial scrub (Origins) three times a week plus a facial mask once a week.

Perhaps it is just hormones, but if anyone can recommend a good pore cleanser or any tips, I'd be very grateful. :D

I have a problem with my pores and my beautician told me not to use normal scrubs as it had the reverse effect on my skin- she recommended a cosmetic scrub ( has no rough bits in it) which I bought and use once-twice a week and I have to say its fantastic, my skin looks great compared to what it used to when I was using regular scrubs. The one I use now is Sothys its a beautician brand , I'm sure there are other ranges that do it but maybe something like that would help you- maybe go to a salon and see what they recommend?

Thanks, I think I'll pay a visit to a beautician to solve the problem for good. Thanks for your advice!

In my experience facial cleansing only aggravates a spot problem, the best thing i have used is Benzoyl peroxide cream, once or twice a day. after about 2 months my problem has almost completely gone away, this is the best treatment you can get outside of taking oral antibiotics. If you really want to wash your face you can get Benzoyl peroxide facial scrub which you could use a few times a week along with using the cream. Seriously i have tried many different products for years and this is the ONLY thing that has ever worked, and it works great.

Also diet is not the cause of this, a good diet can reduce the problem but the problem is not as a result of your diet

Just wondering if you have a balanced healthy diet. Usually spots on the face can relate to a particular organ ie spots on the cheeks relate to a different organ in the body than spots on the cheek. I know that Gillians McKeiths book You are what you eat touches on this.

What I'm getting at is if you are healthy on the inside, your skin will be healthy also.

    HI Japonica,

thanks for your post, I do have a balanced diet, but I have had this spot on my cheek for over a month now, I try not to touch it apart when i put some germolene on it at night but it just won't go away, it's one single spot. If you've any tips, they'd be very welcome.

Spot treat with some kind of Benzoyl Peroxide, its unreal -seriously! get about 5-10% stuff (ask a pharmacist) it will clear any spot in less then a week
