I did that ages ago but they said they were waiting on the information from Pixmania.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,340 CMod ✭✭✭✭Davy

Oh well that seems a little different, if its because of pixmania. I thought they were mostly automatic now that once you click from pigsback they can see you submit the order and credit the points within 24hrs

I know a guy who used to work for them apply the points, he was laid off at beginning of the month(!) think they laid off a good few. Thats probably at the heart of the problem.

The only reward that I used to get with the measly amount that I got rewarded from the jackpots was the Hughes & Hughes vouchers, but they are now 1200 for a €10 voucher, as oppose to 1000 points.
When I saw this I thought, oh well I guess the 200 points I get for topping up my phone every month will pay the extra amount for the vouchers...wrong, that is now gone and they have no plans to bring back topping up mobile phones.

    Has Pigsback gone into reccession???

I got accepted into the online discussion group about Guinness.
3,000 piggypoints and a pigsback goodie bag for my troubles.

But what will I spend the points on? Boots vouchers still available?

Edit: yeah, Boots vouchers still there, touch wood. Also Wagamama's.

I got an email from pigsback asking if I'd be interested. Replied and a guy from pigsback just rang me today.

    So no link per se.

Just wondering can you use the cdwow vouchers on any cdwow site or is it just the Irish site?

Free 4 weeks Moviestar trial plus 400 piggypoints.

    Link

Continue after the 4 weeks and receive a dvd player. Min of 3 month.
This offer expires on Sept 30th, 2008

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 874 ✭✭✭devildriver

It seems that all of the cdwow vouchers are now gone.:(

I'd imagine they were the most popular reward so it looks like Pigsback is going south. I'm gonna bail out now with whatever I can get for my measly few points...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 682 ✭✭✭Bros123

I only joined a few weeks ago but the rewards don't seem to be the greatest.
You would think they would have a bit more choice, cdwow was the reason I joined.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,009 ✭✭✭68 lost souls

Yeah just as soon as I got enough points for some cdwow vouchers they were gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 164 ✭✭kilkennykitten

Damn i have over 10,000 points and was hoping to buy some DVDs, the rest of the rewards are rubbish.

can you not buy meteor phone credit and earn piggypoints anymore?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 893 ✭✭✭Doodlebug

No, fifib, and its a real pain! Thats was probably the best way of earning points (while avoiding shop-charges on credit). I emailed to complain - I'd urge everyone to do the same - they usually reply the next day - its the only way they'll consider bringing it back!

Reply from my email to Pigsback:

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately some of our members were abusing the top up system and we had a few cases of fraudulent behaviour with this offer. This is the reason that it has been removed from site. We are looking at bringing it back at some stage, but at this time I cannot say when. Kind Regards,

    Hmmm - here's the reply I got...
    Hi,

    Thanks for your email.
Unfortunately call credit is no longer available to purchase through Pigsback.com.
At this point I cannot say if or when it will be back on site.
We do still have it available from our Rewards section.
Apologies for any disappointment this may cause.
I wonder how this scheme was "abused"?

It is suspicious that this was dropped at the same time as the CDWOW vouchers, and the points requirement for all €10 vouchers (including Hughes & Hughes) jumped from 1000 to 1200.

A less trusting person might say that they just want to make it harder for anyone to accumulate points at all! :(

Could others please post their replies here too?

I havent had any problems getting points. Have a pigsback credit card and always get the points within a month of paying the bill. Also got points from buying Dell products a few times.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 10,039 ✭✭✭✭mik_da_man

I have no real issue getting points just had to send them a reminder e-mail sometimes
My issue is that there is Just nothing to spend them on :(
I have about 14,500 at this stage.
I'm gonna e-mail and see if they will give me a big voucher for something like Best...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,719 ✭✭✭Hal1

I dunno each time I log in I have 0 points. I'm aware of the 6 months of inactivity thing where they will remove them, but ffs. What do they gain from it :mad:

Don't know if this has been posted before but...Persil (Small & Mighty) bottles in all variants are half price in Tesco at the mo, down to 2.89 each.

Pigsback.com have a 1 euro off any Persil product coupon (one per purchase, no exclusions on using it with other offers) thus making the Small & Mighty bottles 1.89 each, compared to the full retail price of 5.79 ;)

And you earn 10 Piggypoints per coupon.

Happy days if you love Persil I guess!

We went to our Sligo PH to eat last night and were greeted at the front door with a sign saying they no longer take the vouchers. In checking the PB website they now list only a few branches, mostly in Dublin that accept them.
When we ordered the vouchers, only one branch in Cork didn't accept them.
This is terrible advertising for both. I will remember and warn friends about this false advertising.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭Smokeyskelton

Yeah, I just noticed that Hughes and Hughes vouchers now have a 200 point "administration charge" or whatever other rubbish they may choose to call it.

I always got Hughes and Hughes vouchers specifically because they didn't have this nonsense attached. :)

They were the only vouchers I was interested in and now they pull this bull on me. :(

Looks like it won't be worth my while in the future. It always took ages to get enough point anyway and now they increase it by 20%!

By the way, has anyone ever won anything in their competitions? I have entered hundreds (possibly thousands) and never got anything.

I'm one disgruntled bunny.:P:mad: (sorry for all the Smilies, but they're like Pringles - you can't stop at just one ;))

The range of offers has dropped to the ridiculous now, time for them to think again and start looking on the papers for real jobs I guess.
