Lets hope this one is more exciting than Wednesday's game.I agree with Jose that this game is more important for Liverpool, who may have Morientes and Sissoko back.It also looks like Rafa is playing Jose at his own games....

    Rafael Benitez
"When they are talking and talking and talking before the game it means they are worried, maybe they are afraid, I don't know. Maybe he (Mourinho) needs to talk because it'll be difficult to control the games and to beat us.

"Against us they have a lot of problems because we approach the games with a lot of confidence and we are not afraid. We know that we can beat them.

"I don't talk a lot about the other teams, I prefer to spend my time talking about my team. I cannot stop him if he wants to talk about my team. If they talk a lot, it means we are doing the right things.

0-0. Its got it written all over it. These Chelsea Liverpol games are getting beyond boring now.

Hopefully Maureen won't 'park the bus', though they easily could - after all a point would be perfectly sufficent against Liverpool knowing as they do that they can press for all the points against the leagues' cannon fodder.

The team fielded by Rafa could have a few returning names - Sissioko and Morientes, proberly not Kewell though.

    Mike.

i hope to god for the sake of the Premiership that the Pool will beat them.
Even if I have to put up with my Pool supporting mates, until Arsenal beat Chelsea, that will do.
    But please please beat them.
Even if its a crouch screamer, or a dodgy terry og, or a last minute punt up the field from reina that cech fails to catch in the last minute, I dont care,
    Just beat them!!

Robben did more than Duff the other night so Duff would probably be dropped first.

Scrap my 0-0, I think it'll be 1-0 Chelsea and Terry will score the winner. Anyone got the odds on that?

I predicted and bet on a 0-0 draw the last time and im doing the exact same this time. Even though it will probably be boring as hell ill have to watch it. I have put 10e of my winnings on a 0-0 draw. Hopefully I can win twice on this in the space of a week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

I'd imagine the odds on 0-0 will be shorter after Wednesday night. Can't believe it was 5-1 then.

The safeer bet will be for under 2.5 goals @ 1.5/1

    That was me :)

Nah, not tomorrow. I might stick €800 on under 4.5 goals just to win a free €100...

It does look like it will be another under 2.5 though...

I don't know why I'm even planning on watching this game, I'm really really desperate for it to be a classic.

clearcut peno - what was he playing at - Drogba would have struggle dto get the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,312 ✭✭✭mr_angry

Poor penalty - the keeper was unlucky. Game over though. Here comes Chelsea's "bus" tactic again.

Drogba should probably have been sent off by now too. He's getting to be a right moaning bastard these days. If he spent as much time on the ball as he does on the ground, he might be worth the extortionate fee he cost. In the incident itself, he made no attempt to play the ball either. He was busy trying to find a leg to fall over instead. Too bad Djimi provided him with the excuse he needed.

Nobody can hit them like Gerrard. The best striker of a ball in recent years.

Hyppia was soooo slow. Hes a liability.

    Agreed

In work so can't watch the game but it sounds like Drogba is playing well from the gamecast I'm watching. Won a penalty and then setup the second.

Jaysus - 3 goals! Am I watching the right league?

Seriously though, what is it with Benitez picking Luis Garcia? The guy's pass-completion ratio must be below 10%. Its so frustrating, I think that if I ever meet him in the street, I may have to beat him to death with my shoe. How hard can it be to make a simple 5-yard pass to feet? Bring back Bruno Cheyrou!

He was skinned no amount of speed would have gotten him back, superb turn by Drogba no way he meant it was prolly a shot or the ball hit him.

Dunno about that! I think a faster player would've gotten to the ball or at least been there or thereabouts with Drogba.

Great final touch by Duffer though.

    B.

Hit it behind him and wrongfooted him , a better placed CB would have got it but who the funk knew Drogba could do that :D

Drogba was yellow-carded in that incident with Carragher and Xabi Alonso right? Was he not booked in the first half too? I was only tuning in at the time, so I could very well be mistaken...

Its not close at all Andy Gray! He was about a yard on! I'd say DublinDude is worried if he put that bet on!
