hey i go to the gym everyweek and today after a not so straineuos workout i felt really shaky and light headed and had to go puke in the bathroom... before and after i got sick my ears were being pushed out as if there was too much pressure in my head... anyone know what the hell hapened to me?

it would be obvious what it was if i had over worked my self but i hadn't really... just some bench pressing and a while on the rowing machine...

maybe it was some bad food i ate...

    any ideas?
    thanks

Sometimes when I go to the gym I feel ****ed after 10 minutes. Your body is just under stress or fighting a virus or something like that.

I wouldn't worry too much about it if the symptoms clear up after 30 minutes or so...

If it happens again, get a checkup with your doctor? Better safe than sorry...

I find it's important to avoid food (not just food that's gone off) for at least 45 minutes before a workout, especially cardio. Same goes for heavy/viscous drinks. Or overdoing it on the cardio can bring on the nausea too...! Don't be afraid to stop and give yourself time to recover if this does happen.

A glass of apple juice shortly before heading to the gym is ok, I find, but on one occasion I went past the point of diminishing return by drinking half a litre of the stuff. I felt grotty and nauseous for the entire workout.

As dublindude implied, if you're shivery or unwell it's best to swear off the gym for the duration of the dose and allow the internal virus battle to run its course.

Feeling dizzy and sick can be symptoms of being hypoglycemic... ( or is it hyperglycemic ? )

Just means that you could've ran out of sugar in your blood system.
It can happen if you exercise hard without eating much for a few hours beforehand. Happened me once on a 90 min cycle... had to stop for an emergency can of coke to top up my sugar levels.

Are you on a low carb diet perhaps, or just didn't eat properly that lunchtime ?

( Ps. am not qualified in the area, so it's just a guess )

    regards,
    Owen
