Just curious if anybody of you guys tried Pilates to supplement
their training, for core strength/abominals and back muscles?

If you have done Pilates, please let me know what you think
of it and how it applies to your sport.

I always look out for references (weblinks or newspaper articles)
where MEN/MALE TEAMS used Pilates to boost their performance.

Here list of clubs/individuals who practise Pilates:

    1. British Premiership Club Bolton Wanderers (source: Irish Times article)
    2. Sunderland (source: Irish Times article)
    3. Bohemians Football Club (source: Irish Times article)
    4. British National Rowing Squad (source: a Irish rower told me)
    5. All Blacks – Rugby team
    6. DJ Carey (source: Irish Independent)
    7. Australian National Swim Squad (source: Total Immersion Instructor)

At the moment I try to promote Pilates to male gym members
and to the male public ,as it is often mistakenly perceived as
for mainly women/female form of exercise.

    Cheers

Poobum sums lot’s of benefits up and that’s the beauty of Pilates, it has such
    a wide range of benefits.

It’s also lot’s about posture, as different abdominal and back muscles influence out posture and exactly these muscles are targeted with various Pilates exercise.

Think as well, that lot’s of movements start from your body’s core (mainly various abdominal/back muscle) and the stronger, more balanced this core is the more efficient and less energy absorbing will the movements be.
Still folks, who is doing Pilates and doing which sport?

That’s the main question for me as Pilates instructor, I’m looking for references where male sports people individuals/team use Pilates in a beneficial way for their post. Please let me know!

There must be a few folks out there …….
