As opposed to saying, get ur diet right and excercise I am going to instead advise trying something else first...............
i highly reccomend two books to read to start you off on the right track.

book 1 - Alan Carr "easyweigh to lose weight"
this isnt about diets or anything like that, in fact its quite the opposite
buy this book, if you do what he says it will change ur life!!!!

book 2 - William Leith " the hungry years"
really interesting read about compulsive eating (im not saying thats what u have!) obesity addictive personalities and resolutions

both books can be gotten in Easons for 10 - 15 quid which is feck all.
The alan carr book (same guy who wrote the easy way to stop smoking books... that work!) is brilliant, I lost 2 stone in 2 months, permanent fat loss, and it changed my life/eating habits for the better.

Hillwalking is the best way to lose weight and build strength in the legs.

Join your local hillwalking club and after a few hike's you'd be amazed at how lean you get.

Store bought health foods aren't great, best to stick to your usual diet. Hillwalking uses a lot of carbs, and burns your bodies sugar and fat very quickly.

You rarely over eat when hiking as you can only carry so much on your back (sleeping bags ,cloths food and water)

    My 2 cents
