I've seen some of them bets, he's doing well. The odds are usually pretty decent. My main fancy for tomorrow's internationals is Belarus away to Moldova at around evens. Belarus have only lost once in the group and that was 4-3 away to Italy, the have already beaten Moldava easily so look a great bet to me.

I was expecting to see the words Gift Horse in here...

    Should be interesting.

Have you not got a Betfair account Blah?

Fade, do you fancy Gift Horse tomorrow? There's no value in the front two, I think proclamation has the better chance and there's no arguing with what she's achieved but I think I might chance something a bigger price, maybe Somnus, conditions ideal and has won this race before. Recent form is worrying though but at 20/1 it might be worth a small ew bet.

I'm going to give the race a miss to be honest. You're definitely right in saying that Gift Horse's value is gone but I don't think the same can be said of Proclamation...if this "monster" gamble continues on Gift Horse then the horse in the field with the most ability, proclamation may be pushed out to 2s or 3s. You're right though about other horses like somnus...this is by no means a two horse race and I'll be happy just to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,757 ✭✭✭masterK

You're probably right just watching. I sometimes think that these big field group sprints are similar to picking the bonus ball on the lotto, they seem to take turns coming out. If I do bet in it I'll be keeping stakes small.

I see La Cucaracha is being backed for fairly hefty sums on Betfair, what odds she's the selection of Pricewise in the Racing Post tomorrow?

    explain this pricewise thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,757 ✭✭✭masterK

blah have you been in hiding the last few weeks not to have heard to Pricewise? He is a tipster in the racing post, his real name is Tom Segal, he usually picks 2 or 3 horses every Saturyday that he feels are a bigger price than they should be, hence the name Pricewise At least one of his selections have won for the last 10 saturdays running so he is trying for 11 in a row tomorrow.

When he tips a horse it's price shortens up dramatically due to the following he has. Somebody usually posts his selections on the Betfair forum around 10 or 11 tonight. I usually back them all and then lay them back off tomorrow at some stage at much shorter odds giving me a free bet, unless I agree with his fancies in which case I leave the bet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭blahblah06

ah right i had no idea who that was LOL. you see i have no idea how this laying malarky works m8

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

I was thinking of starting a thread where we could have a guess what Segal would pick tomorrow. That could be a good guess MasterK....I think he'll go with something like autumn glory or out for a stroll....we shall wait and see

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭Crumbs

I'm also opposing the front two in the G1 sprint (especially Gift Horse who I might place lay) and siding with Galeota. I've taken some 14s on him.

I also like Polar Ben at 11/2 in Haydock's 3:55. Things look right for him tomorrow.

Anyone want to share their thoughts on Newmarket's 4:05? I feel like I want to take on the favourite with Mamool at 5/2. He should have won his last race but finished 4th of 5 after being boxed in for the last 3 furlongs. Also, he gets 5lbs from the fav but it looks as if Imperial Stride is improving past this lot into a real G1 horse and if so, should justify his price of evens in this G3. I'll probably just leave this one alone.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

I wouldn't count Bandari out of it either. What a gutsy horse. I'd lean towards Imperial Stride between the front two though, Mullins Bay has franked the form in good style this week and Richard Hills prefers him over Bandari

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭Crumbs

    Mamool it is then. :D

We won't know 'til tomorrow. (Don't think we really care though do we?)

    Pricewise:

    Green Manalishi
    1.15 Haydock
    1pt win @ 13-2 with B365 & Joe

    Glistening
    1.45 Haydock
    2pts win @ 6-1 with Gluebear, 11-2 with B Drct
    (5-1 generally)

    Elusive Dream
    1.45 Haydock
    1pt win @ 6-1 B365, B Drct, Crybet & Viktor

    La Cucaracha
    2.15 Haydcok
    1pt win @ 11-1 with Badcrooks
    (9-1 generally)

As MasterK mentioned, a guy called J Rozel posts these on the betfair forum the night before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,757 ✭✭✭masterK

Had a feeling he'd go for La Cucaracha.

In the 4:05 at Newmarket although it's hard to get away from Imperial Stride's form I'm not sure the race will be run to suit. He likes to front run, however so do both Bandari and Polar Gem. The race may pan out that these three take each other on for the lead, thus setting the race up for Mamool to come late.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,684 ✭✭✭scargill

With La Cucaracha shortening because of pricewise and Gift Horse being gambled on all week (although now drifting back out a little), Proclamation is staying put at 2/1. That is starting to look like a great bet to me.

Only niggling doubt is the distance - he is clearly THE best horse over 7f/8f.

Anyone want to put me off it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭blahblah06

get on czech republic for the win guys

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,122 ✭✭✭Davexirl

Do you guys do single bets on these tips or an accumulator?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,300 ✭✭✭CiaranC

    Staking plan is right there.

There's no denying proclamation's chance, but at 2/1 and shortening my two against the field will be Lucky Spin (win) and Somnus (place).

Lucky spin convincingly beat La Cucaracha at York in July on Good ground, her record on Good ground is 3 wins and 1 second from 4 races. That victory at york was her on run over 6 furlongs. Finishing well behind that day was Slip Dance, Proclamation also beat Slip Dance by the same margin also at york, but interestingly Proclamation was giving Slip Dance 3lb while Lucky Spin gave it 10lb. On that basis I would rather take 12/1 on Lucky spin over 2/1 proclamation.

Listen bud, this is a horse racing forum, that's all. Chance are, people won't mind if you start the thread with your bets for saturday and include a few soccer ones but we know you want to back czech republic, one post is enough to tell us that. And I hope they do the business for ya but there have been warnings by the moderator to keep the racing forum just that so there's no point in getting yourself banned now is there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭blahblah06

Why would i get banned. i cant use the soccer forum because its access only. i was only trying to help people out to win a few bob. i wont bother.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Blah, you should request access to the soccer forum, a few of will sponser you.

Back to today's racing, I'm really keen on Autumn Glory in the 3:55 at Haydock, his record over 1 mile on good ground is top class, he's a three time group 3 winner so the drop down to listed should see him winning, if Quito stays the trip he is an obvious danger.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Autumn Glory was one of my stand outs last night, which is why I thought Mr. Segal would've picked him.

Another one with a huge chance in an average race is Aberdovey, of Michael Bell's yard. Pushed a fairly useful sort right to the line last time out and in a fairly ordinary race just take all the beating off a feather weight with the excellent (and tasty enough) Hayley Turner on board.

And Blah, I'd have no problem sponsering you for the soccer forum.

Last one, I'm take on the two pricewise selections at 1:45 with Sendintank, has only had 3 runs this season, the last of which an eyecatching 7th in the Ebor from an impossible draw. If Jamie Spencer can keep in clear of trouble I can seem him coming late to win. Will relish the softish ground and is proven over the distance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Ellusive Dream has gotta be a danger in that one MK, Prescott just can't be overlooked in a race like this. 302 day absence but definitely has the ability to win a race like this. Favoured instead of Masafi and Red Damson who would be definite favourites in this if they had've run

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,258 ✭✭✭digiman

I think I will but 2.5 e/w on all his the pricewise selections and see if I cme out in profit. Hopefully we will get one right. The boylesports account is very healthy after last sunday, thanks to fade. Cheers man.

I just saw this thread now after making my selections, I'm on Elusive Dream.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,258 ✭✭✭digiman

    Haydock 1.15
    1st 8 Sierra Vista 25-1
    2nd 7 Green Manalishi 11-2 CF
    3rd 15 Sir Edwin Landseer (USA) 9-1

At least I got my money back on Green Mandishi!!
Will see how the rest pan out later on

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,230 ✭✭✭scojones

Revo, I will sponsor you for the soccer forum if you like... We all threw a hissy fit (especially me) when someone was posting soccer tips here before, and that user got banned, along with the thread being closed, so we have to be the same with you. We can't have double standards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭blahblah06

I got that guy banned because he was abusing ppl
