    45 euro+...knackers to that

Mmm... We'll be lucky to hear anything even from The Colour And The Shape, let alone Self Titled. Suppose I'll go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,753 ✭✭✭qz

As long as I hear Everlong I'll sleep soundly.

I was a bit disapointed with their Slane Performance a while back but I think I will end up going as I do like their new album... the Colour and Shape is one of my all-time favourite albums and It'd be great to hear a lot of material from it played live..

What will this be like. The crowd I mean, I love rock gigs and moshing but Foo Fighters are almost bordering on pop music.

I saw them a few years back in the point and I think the smaller venue (opposed to Slane) suits them. It was a great gig and the few random strangers I talked to were very decent folk.

I can't imagine things would have changed too much in 3 years.

"Decent folk" though, I don't want to go to a gig and sit around having a chat over a nice cup of tea, I want to do some serious moshing. I'm just asking a question.

i was at the foo's like the last time they played the point there was plenty of "moshing".

:( NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! How dare they do this to me! I want to see them again so bad. I saw them at Witnness 2002, Their gig in the Point in like 2002 (or whenever it was) and at Slane 2003. They're so damn good live but I won't be able to get to Dublin for then. *weeps*

Planning on going to see the Foos myself. I liked their Oxegen performance but the new songs just didn't do it for me. Hopefully they will play a greatest hits set to make the money worthwhile.

Last time they played here they gave every album a fair look in. Expect "Everlong", "Monkey Wrench", and two of "For All the Cows", "Big Me", "Alone & Easy Target", "I'll Stick Around" to be played, if not more.

Everlong and Monkey Wrench, yeah. But I've heard them so many times now. Would love to heard some other songs from The Colour And The Shape. Can't see them playing anything but For All The Cows and possibly This Is A Call from ST album. I'd love to hear everying from the first two albums really. Not so bothered with the rest.

There is a rumour going around that the gig has been cancelled, as it is no longer on the ticketmaster website. Could someone please confirm this?

Yeah, i've noticed it too, it aint on mcd or ticketmaster anymore.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 229 ✭✭susanna

Nothing coming up on Ticketmaster, what's going on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 923 ✭✭✭logistic

Anyone know what the situation is with the gig. Was told the tickets go on sale today at 9? No listing of it on ticketmaster?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 442 ✭✭seanironmaiden

ticketmaster say tickets are onsale next saturday. it wasn't advertised at all really was it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 536 ✭✭✭Evil Sausage

I wouldnt be half surprised that they pushed back the for sale date to accomdate a pre-sale for Foos fans. Something they've been doing for all their dates so far it seems.

That could explain all the different sale dates that they're talkin about over on the Foos message board. Next Thursday maybe the pre-sale date. And next Saturday the public sale date.

And did anyone else notice, Weezer are supporting them in the 2nd Earls Court date in London, the gig before the Dublin show? Possibility of a Foozer show in Dublin.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,110 ✭✭✭Mr Rivers

But if it's pushed back for a pre-sale then there'd still be mention of it on mcd.ie but there aint. It just dissappeared :\

Its ok. Went to my local ticket dispensing outlet and they said that the tickets will be on sale next friday. Something went wrong and ticketmaster weren't really informed about it. People were ringing them this morning and they confirmed the tickets will be on-sale on friday. Hopefully. So breath easy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 536 ✭✭✭Evil Sausage

Just because its not mentioned on MCD, doesnt mean its been cancelled. Ive seen this happen before a couple of times before. Things pop up, then disappear. A few days later they pop up again.

Id say MCD jumped the gun and when the Foos HQ saw they had publicised it without their consent, they probably had to bring it down.

    They'll be hear in December.

Heres the confirmation from mcd, tickets on sale Friday:

They were awful at Slane, magnificent in 2001. What were they like at Oxegen? My fear is that they're hit and miss live. Whoever was asking about Everlong - they'll play this as their last track before the encore - they always do methinks.

Also I went into town for the tickets on the Saturday morning and they kindly told us we were six days early - I wasn't a happy pappy. How much are tickets anyway? - I never checked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,592 ✭✭✭Ro: maaan!

    Tickets are €44 before charges/fees.

They were solid at Oxegen. The old songs sounded fabulous but I wasn't overwhelmed by the new material. If the point gig consists of alot of new material I fear it may not be great.

The presale is for people who have signed up to the Foos mailing list. I've just got the email, presale tomorrow from 9am to 5pm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 923 ✭✭✭logistic

Anyone manage to get pre sale tickets. My link isnt working anymore?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 100 ✭✭Ciaran*

The presale works if you keep trying. You can even get to it from the main page.

This is fantastic! Although, I wonder if I'm gonna have the time to see them in Dec.
They were excellent at Oxegen, love their new songs. I've watched some of their indoor gigs, and they seem to put on better show, so I'd say definately expect a quality gig in the point

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,749 ✭✭✭✭wes

Saw them at Witnness and Slane a couple years back and I taught they were fantastic both times. So I reckon the gig will be a good time :D .

Did anybody manage to get tickets for the left and right balcony's this morning, all that they were offering were the back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 923 ✭✭✭logistic

During the pre sale you were able to get tickets for the left balcony (block E) but i havent seen on sale for the right balcony (block C)

Ive been trying to get right balcony (block C) tickets with no joy. I havent seen them on sale at all. Have anyone else been able to get them??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,411 ✭✭✭Dr4gul4

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 156 ✭✭Pitseleh

Now I may be missing something but I figured the standing tickets were the "good ones" - bit more atmosphere and stuff, no? Personally I'd go with the ol' standing ticket every time

    Same here.
Can't wait to go again, they were great in the point in 01, but pretty dodgey at oxegen but hopefully this time they'll be good again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,749 ✭✭✭✭wes

Gotta agree with the lads there, the standing tickets are fair more fun.
