Should you not eat after a certain time in the evening or would it really matter if I ate about 8.30 or so as I would just be finished an hours workout?

I have quite a bit of weight to lose and want to know if this would slow things down or what should i do?

    Thanks

It depends on what time you plan on going to be at. If you're going asleep at 11, then it should be ok but if you're going at 9 then it wouldn't be advisable.

try not worrying about when you eat but concentrate more on what you eat.
The only reason I don't eat late is that it makes me feel a little queezy!
it's been a while since I read up on my nutrition, but the trainers at the gym could give you a good idea (if they're any good that is!)

I try not to eat within the 4 hours before going to bed.
The only time I break that rule is if I do a late evening weights workout.

If you're doing weight training then definintely eat some white meat after training. This will give you protein and help build your muscles. Also weight training is a good way to lose weight. Apparently your muscles will continue to re-build over 2-3 days and this burns calories. Where as a cardio workout you stop burning calories about 2-3 HOURS later. So if you come home from training get some white meat into you.

The only reason I don't eat at night is that it disrupts the sleeping pattern. I might get up at around 4 to go to the toilet. This would inevitably affect your training over time.

My advice is just don't eat junk food. Stay off junk food for 1 month and see what difference that makes.

It doesn't really matter as long as your calories are balanced throughout the whole day, people normally tend to eat convenience foods at night which can cause weight gain though if you are eating fairly healthy there is no problem.

I have heard that it's better for your body if you don't eat 2 hours before you go to bed but i don't know if there's any truth in that. As for weight gain, I doubt it will have any effect on losing/gaining weight as weight gain is a result of eating more calories than are used, regardless of when those calories are consumed.

all depends on what you are looking to do! do you want to lose weight, build muscle, tone, etc! what are you looking to do! and what type of exercises are you doing for that hour?

I cut out carbs after 5 pm, so all my meals after this are just pro/fat. This is ideal for losing fat as it carb depletes the body overnight (so no excess glycogen storage) and also if you do cardio in morning you'll only burn fat
