    How long after i have protein should i start my weight lifting exercises? I know it takes longer than simple sugars to break down but usually how long should i wait after a protein meal before i can get the full benefit of it in my training?

    i was always told about half an hour to an hour and take a fast acting protein such as whey within 40 mins after training!! but before training you should be concentrating on getting in loads of complex carbs for energy!
