If you click the back button on IE after you enter the code and e-mail address, then click submit again it will send you another code to the same address.

Unfortunately this won't work for 51xxx numbers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,626 ✭✭✭davehey79

you dont have to text the code it can be done from the website just entered 10 codes fingers crossed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,584 ✭✭✭c - 13

    Can you enter already ?

I thought you couldnt until september ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭Dingatron

All numbers entered before the 1st September will go into the first draw. Wait till after the 1st and text in at an ungodly hour to have a better chance.
Unfortunately this won't work for 51xxx numbers.

What about something like Logo Manager? Must be some programs out there that can automate timed text sending from a regular mobile once you have PC connectivity? Me goes off to google .......

According to the crisp packet txt's in Ireland are free.

You can enter at the moment, but it means you will be entered into the first draw in the first 5 minutes only

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,835 ✭✭✭StickyMcGinty

yea waste of time... it costs 13c with vodafone, just the standard msg rate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 459 ✭✭Neuro

Here's my reading of this competition having read the FAQ:
    - Only codes from Walkers Crisp packs can be entered via the competition website.
    - Only UK users will be able to get codes from the No Purchase Necessary website.
    - Codes from the No Purchase Necessary website MUST be texted in.

But, contrary to the above, if you do request a code from the NPN website the email containing the code does list a SMS number for Ireland (51801).

The reason that there's no NPN route for ROI residents is probably because, according to the T&Cs, the ROI Promoter and beneficiary is the Rehab Group, which is a charity.

Or you could just buy a packet of crips with the code on it and get fed into the bargain.... :D

The emails i get from the NPN website simply say
    Email wrote:
Thanks for entering the Walkers iPod mini Prize Draw.

Your unique No Purchase Necessary code is: BBBKWPRMPW

Nothing about no number to text it too + The draw website accepts the codes I get from the npn site

If you win one of these iPods please let the rest of us know what code source you used (Back of Pack or No Purchase Necessary) and the entry route used (WWW or SMS).

Just thought I'd bump this up - it started today.

Tried with 6 codes earlier this morning and I didn't win.
Codes were from packets and the no purchase codes.
    I texted them all in.

If anyone has any luck, please state how it worked!

Just thinking, theres probably one ipod every 5mins between the UK & Ireland so people in the UK will be at it too.

I got 3 NPN codes from the web site and text them to 51801 and yes they cost 11 cents each

Edit: Just got 3 texts back saying "sorry" I hadn't win.

So they do respond within 5 mins.

Must go now and enter online if it is possible

Are you charged for the reply text to say you have not won?

    No charge for the reply.

As stated above I received 3 reply texts saying I hadn't won. I got these within 5 mins. of entering. I entered 3 times online and an hour later I have had no reply.

It does say on the website that you must text your code and that you cant enter online

can you win with the NPN site ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,390 ✭✭✭Stench Blossoms

I got 2 codes but no luck on either :(

If the UK's in it, comparing the population of each country, it must be about 1 in every 16 will be an Irish winner (assuming the an equal number of people in each country try).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,220 ✭✭✭20 Times 20 Times

i have entered this about ten times from the NPN web site and still not won aanything :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭comet

tried a code and got nothing, the online code has to be texted in. I'd say the chance of winning are slim enough.

    read the faq.

the npn's are for uk residents

yes thats what they say but the email they send from the npn site says
Please text the code to 82220 (UK ) or 51801 ( Eire ) and you will be notified if you are a winner or loser by text message.

so obviously you can use them in Ireland or else why they include the Irish number.

When you get the NPN code and enter the draw online, do they let you know if you've lost? I've entered it a few times but heard nothing back... :(

Its been said a number of times on the thread, you can't use the NPN code to enter online, you have to text it.

Are the entries for the draw cleared every 5 minutes?

Tanked Up My Phone Last Night With NPN codes and have an 02 sim card with credit not using . Shot off at least 40 last night in less than 20 mins and same response all the same : Sorry you havent one this time .....screensaver **** etc.. Defo not a 1/16 chance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 815 ✭✭✭animaal

Fired off 22 entries in under 10 mins last night... no luck.

Nobody said it was a 1/16 chance. The point is that as the UK and Ireland are coupled together for this competition, based on populaiton only, 1 in 16 winners will be Irish. In other words there will be an Irish winner every 80 mins, not every 5 mins.

Your actual chances would therefore be 1 in however many responses they get in 80 minutes - could be thousands received in that time.

put over 50 entries through in a five minute section yesterday, no luck either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,220 ✭✭✭20 Times 20 Times

i did the same send loads of text messages etc no chance of me wining :( and im too lazy to start trying again too much hassle :)

I'd say the chance of an Irish person winning would be less than 1/16 as I imagine Walker crisps are much more popular in the UK than here.

Yep, it works from here. They email you out a code and there's a text number for the UK and another for Ireland.

Did you input the security code as well?

The NPN numbers do work for Ireland, but you have to text them in although the webform that appears after you input the NPN code does have Ireland as an option...

    I tried three NPNs:

First one I entered in on the wbsite, no reply
The other two I texted in and got the 'sorry hard luck' reply

So, NPNs are valid from Ireland but only through text (it seems)

    Best of luck
