Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bill- why not have a Carlow reunion?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Next week is bad due to the big Dublin reunion being on Saturday (don't want to detract from that), and after that there is school and such... However I'm going into TY and as thus don't mind travelling places on weekends provided there will be people there. *shakes fist for no good reason*

Could have it during the year. Should be fun.

I'd much prefer that, but where would we hold it? Graigcullen Park maybe?

    I'm thinking sometime in October.

Who'd be there?Me. you, Ruairi and Aidan, even though we see each other very frequently?

If we can convince people to come to Waterford, we could convince them to come to Carlow. But it's not without its problems, as I said earlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,721 ✭✭✭StupidLikeAFox

what about the park beside penneys and lifestyle and tesco...? Or is that actually Graigcullen Park?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,858 ✭✭✭Undergod

No, you see that's where stoners, skangers and drunks hang out. Its filthy. And not very fun. And the playground has no swings. What kind of playground has no swings? A crap one, that's what kind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,721 ✭✭✭StupidLikeAFox

    Pretty harmless playground alright

Yes, Waterford indeed. I'm there a lot. Almost every day, in fact. I live there, see.

Let's have a reunion there. Carlow people - START YOUR OWN FRIGGIN' THREAD! Now, on to planning Waterford and such...

I suggest in Red Square (City Centre) some Saturday not too soon, yet not too far away. We'll introduce you all to the many and varied culinary, cultural and computational delights that we have to offer here in the Suny South East...

    Any other suggestions and such?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,858 ✭✭✭Undergod

First of all, Carlow is in the south east and second of all I WANT A WATERFORD reunion. (You can see I'm speaking loudly cause it's all caps and italics)

And donall, plunky is Dublinian. That's a fight we'll never win.

Yes, I think Waterford reunion in Late spetember or early october

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 652 ✭✭✭Jim_Are_Great

Ok, last weekend in September then. Which, according to calculations, is Saturday 24th. Noon. Red Square. Yea?

I'm in (Waterford) town most of the time anyway, so anything's good by me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

    Should be there

  • Registered Users Posts: 367 ✭✭Shiney

i won't bother, the only person i know from waterford calls me a meanie and wouldnt talk to me at the dublin reunion so theres no point

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 975 ✭✭✭Plunky

    Congratulations!..
And yes, I'm from Dublin, and who is undergod?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,858 ✭✭✭Undergod

Undergod is Bill McGrath. We met at the botanical gardens although I didn't actually talk to you, and the sunday you were at breakfast. I suggested ovipositor as a humorous word. You disagreed. I may have tried to kill aonghus or something at some other point while you were there, and then thought my bag was lost whereas it was just obscured by something.

I say Saturday 24th of September is good.

  • Registered Users Posts: 175 ✭✭odranCN

aye red square.... i shall try and be there if im not playin my drums...lol

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

That too. Sunday seems to suit better, grace is available, I'm available either day, donnacha lives there, Aonghus might be?

    Anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Either day is fine for me, unless my orchestra's website is lying about rehearsal dates. In which case, it'll burn in hell. Burn. In. Hell.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

Not sure about sunday, but its more likely than saturday.

I can't make it at all that weekend, Bill. I have rugby matches on both days. One of which is against a Leinster team *cringes*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

As far as I can see, Saturday I can't make it. My family are in some foreign country around then and they need me to mind the dog. If dogs can travel on buses/trains, then it's okay, but that seems somewhat (see highly) unlikely.

In conclusion, *shuffles through cuecards* Sunday.

Or you do it to escape the eternal torment that is living in non-Dublin? =)

I kid, of course. Dublin is a cesshole full of people, and shops, and gigs and reunions. Horrible place.

Speaking of which, what Dublin people ARE going?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,858 ✭✭✭Undergod

All the ones that know what's good for them.

Actually, anyone who wants to. And for those that don't want to, well... we'll make rude jokes about you! and there'll be booze. And hookers!

DISCLAIMER: Above may or may not be downright lie.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 652 ✭✭✭Jim_Are_Great

So, now that that's all sorted - who's going, eh?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Mr.D.Leprachaun

How might one get there if one lived in, say, Monaghan? What are the times for buses from Dublin? If they fit with McConnon's I might be able to make it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 652 ✭✭✭Jim_Are_Great

I would much like NOT to discuss busses and Monaghan...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Mr.D.Leprachaun

So you've seen the state of it too. Or just can't think of anything of interest to say on the subject.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Well, you could probably consult a bus website about it. I'd help you, but those things are DEATHTRAPS. And by death traps, I mean immensely difficult to navigate. I can just about manage "Dublin to Somewhere" and that's only because it's all over the front page.

Waterford falls under 'somewhere', right? Good.

Just use the Journey Planner, s'easy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

    *moment's silence*

    That is quite true.

    The journey planner IS easy.

Just like your mother. She plans all of my trips. =) Oh and sex. Of course.
