Myer-Briggs Personality Test

    Myer-Briggs Personality test

    While some don't have much faith in personality tests, personally I find this one quite reliable. When answering the questions, take your time. At the end, enter your personality type into google and you will get info on your strengths/weaknesses, which career to choose, etc. Knowing this info.might help to solve some of your current problems!

    See what personality type you are. Do you think it's true?

    Sorry, this isn't a Personal Issue.

    Note that you should take all internet tests with a grain of salt. A proper psychological test takes several hundred questions under controlled circumstances and should be interpreted by a trained professional.

    This is more of an AH thread I think. Quite good though.

    Heh, I'm an "Inspector Guardian" apparently, the most famous example Keirsey gives is Harry Truman. I live right opposite the Truman statue, he looks at me whenever I have my curtains open. Scary, he's inspecting me every day..

    ENFP, some of it's on the mark, whilst other parts are quite staggeringly off. I think there's elements of this test that reflect the person one wants to be rather than the person one actually is. Or maybe I'm just over-analysing!

    EDIT: just read the second description of the ENFP personality type linked to on that site and it seems very much on the money!

    I almost think these personality tests are like horoscopes - people want to see themselves in the descriptions if they sound positive, therefore, they do see themselves in the descriptions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,440 ✭✭✭Dizzyblabla

    I'm an ESFJ too, I didn't bother reading the links on the site, but googled it and got this:
    http://www.typelogic.com/esfj.html
    it's horribly right...

    ISFP

    very expressed introvert
    moderately expressed sensing personality
    distinctively expressed feeling personality
    moderately expressed perceiving personality

    Hmmm... Pretty accurate I spose

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 366 ✭✭pauln

    Another INTJ.

    Edit: Seems pretty accurate, places me in the sciences/engineering for one and I'm currently studying Mech Eng having studied Physics briefly.
    I've also taken the more professional controlled tests before and they placed me in the same ballpark, so this test is better then some of the others I've seen online.

    I remember seeing members of an Objectivist forum take this test and they all got iNTj. Jung was fairy good.

    I'm an intj too, although bordered on infj. I agree with what it says. It's better than any horoscope, if you answer honestly the results will be accurate.

    ESFJ apparently, or in otherwords "Provider Guardian".

    Provider Guardians take it upon themselves to arrange for the health and welfare of those in their care, but they are also the most sociable of all the Guardians, and thus are the great nurturers of established institutions such as schools, businesses, churches, social clubs, and civic groups. Wherever they go, Providers take up the role of social contributor, happily giving their time and energy to make sure that the needs of others are met, that traditions are supported and developed, and that social functions are a success.

    Providers are very likely more than ten percent of the population, and this is very fortunate for the rest of us, because friendly social service is a key to their nature. Highly cooperative themselves, Providers are skilled in maintaining teamwork among their helpers, and are also tireless in their attention to the details of furnishing goods and services. They make excellent chairpersons in charge of social events. They are without peer as masters of ceremonies, able to approach others with ease and confidence, and seemingly aware of what everyone’s been doing. And they are outstanding hosts or hostesses, able to remember people’s names, usually after one introduction, and always concerned about the needs of their guests, wanting to insure that all are involved and provided for.

    Providers are extremely sensitive to the feelings of others, which makes them perhaps the most sympathetic of all the types, but which also leaves them rather self-conscious, that is, highly sensitive to what others think of them. Because of this Providers can be crushed by personal criticism, and will work most effectively when given ample appreciation both for themselves personally and for the service they give to others. This is not to say that Providers are afraid to express their own emotional reactions. They are quick to like and dislike—and don’t mind saying so—tending to put on a pedestal whatever or whoever they admire, and to come down hard on those people and issues they don’t care for.

    In their choice of careers, Providers may lean toward sales and service occupations. They have such pleasant, outgoing personalities that they are far and away the best sales reps, not only regularly winning sales contests, but earning seniority in any sales group within an organization. Observing Providers at work in a sales transaction reveals clearly how this type personalizes the sale. They are visibly—and honestly—concerned with their customer’s welfare, and thus the customer is not simply buying the product, but is buying personally from the Provider. This same characteristic causes them to be good in many people-to-people jobs, as teachers, clergy, coaches, social workers, office receptionists, and so on. Providers seldom become a source of irritation in the workplace; on the contrary, they are unflagging in their devotion to their company, and show such personal loyalty to their immediate superiors that they make invaluable personal secretaries.

    All lies. I'm a heinous bit*h really.

    ENTP

    Havent seen any others with this but the typelogic.com description is frighteningly accurate. I like this test :D

    "ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue--both for its own sake, and to show off their often-impressive skills. They tend to have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil's advocate. They sometimes confuse, even inadvertently hurt, those who don't understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport."

    Me in a nutshell

    Strength of the preferences %
    89 12 38 44

    You are:

    * very expressed introvert
    * slightly expressed intuitive personality
    * moderately expressed thinking personality

    I remember takng this in college, in my comp. sci. class. The Mastermind Rational is, IIRC, representative of approximately 2-3% of society. In our class, the INTJ was the most predominant model and, it's not too surprising, when the likes of programming, et cetera lends itself to somewhat reclusive mindsets who need to act and think creatively in a structured environment.

    The other bits are pretty spot on too.. almost worryingly so...
