    I'd like to inform people that discussing linguistics is on topic for and welcome in this forum! (Check out this page for a basic introducation and an outline of the different areas of linguistics).

    Also, if you have any links to good sites on linguistics, post them in this thread!

    BBC's Voices site is an interesting and user-friendly introduction to Linguistics, including a lot of features like this list of reasons to study linguistics.
