I've got a 1gb Shuffle, listening to Mash Up Mix and whatever else i fancy on the day.

Most of the equipment at my gym has lcd screens, so i can plug in and listen

I'm going through a spell of listening to the Prodigy at the moment, also on my shuffle.
I don't use the neck lanyard for when i am running because i think it sways a bit too much and causes irritation. I just stick it in my pocket.

Yeah lcd tv's, with around 12-13 channels, all the irish channels, a few music ones, and sky news etc.

Most/all the cardio equipment has them.

Dublin's Q102  I have an mp3 player I sometimes bring, but I'm normally carrying so much crap around the gym with me (lifting straps, 2l bottle of water, sweat towel, log book, pen and, if it's leg day, - knee wraps and a belt). Needless to say I look like those geriatrics who horde things, but it's gotta be done!

    For cardio I just read.

you can. Bring a radio and tune into the fm they're using for each station. There's a board beside the spinning class room that lists them all.

It always has to be dance music for me. I couldn't work out to anything else.

Walk at high incline and decent pace (5.5kph) - it's gotten me sub 10% and kept me there despite a 5000kcal diet... I do this for 45 mins on non training days. Best way to burn fat IMO and only exaggerated by doing it first thing in morning (with maybe a csoop of whey first)

Hatebreed Chimaira or Lamb Of God. Or if I'm in a lighter mood System Of A Down

    any trance by Morlack

any kind of build-up music really. samba music or classical (Gladiator soundtrack etc etc) is always great for boosting your mood.

Monster Magnet or Slash's Snakepit or any other metally type thing always goes well with the gym because its semi-aggressive feel good music.

i wouldnt put on radiohead when im in the gym :D

It has to be something heavy to get you fired up for working out. Slayer / Pantera. Or then again, maybe some Daft Punk or Chemical Brothers.
