You have to work out what the letters mean. See No 0 as an example.
According to MENSA, if you get 23 of these, you are a "genius".
Only 2 MENSA members achieved full marks. See how well you do.

28 - 23 Pairs of Chromasomes in the Human Body, I believe.

Well that lasted exactly 8 hours, now what?

I'd be doubtful that mensa consider this an accurate test to assertain genius... it only examines what can only be percieved as general knowledge. One could be a genius without knowing popular phrases and such. By claiming this is a test of genius you're obviously assuming that genius can be measured in 30 or so one-line answers.... I would think the human brain slightly more complex than that...

    A quote about geniusness:

Our Youth Theatre leader was asking us to do a creative task without warming up before hand and afterwards he said 'there are some people that, if you tell them to find 30 ways of doing something in a short space of time will be able to do so, we call these people Geniuses.'

    I like that quote.

Note: It's referring to creative geinuses only.

We had in IQ thread last year iirc, it just ended up with people bitching about inaccuracy or somesuch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 132 ✭✭Un-Big

Online IQ tests suck. They're either stupidly inaccurate or you have to pay for them, and they don't make it clear that you have to before you spend half an hour taking the damn thing..... yes that IS what just happened to me *twitches violently*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,198 ✭✭✭✭Crash

Well, IQ tests come across a lot of problems - for instance that one is plain **** because its knowledge, not reasoning. others come across issues of bias on the grounds of racial and financial situation i.e. there are too many variables to come up with a decent standard IQ test.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 132 ✭✭Un-Big

Damn, it really is too much to ask how smart you are isnt it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,198 ✭✭✭✭Crash

Its near impossible - as fair as i can see the SAT's is a reasonably good grading though - mainly cus its aimed at an average intelligence 2-5 years older.

This place have an apparently 'culture fair' IQ test, and their tests seem to be less... easy... than the average online tests which seem to tell everyone that they're smart'n'wonderful. (Apart from that one they used to have at The Spark where the real test of intelligence was giving up on it... hee.)
