It seems like our good friend kevin has managed to get himself banned.

Apparently he has been insulting people on other pages of these glorious forums. However, i don't care about that. And i such i feel we should all agree to tell whoever the overlord of these forums is (it think its some dude called ecksor or somesuch), that we would like him back. Everyone must agree, or i will beat them up.

So post your name, what you like about kevin, or how hes enriched your life, and we'll bust him out of there.

It's not going to happen, I've seen him get banned on the boards.ie IRC channel for saying hello to ecksor. I doubt he's going to be unbanned.

Tbh, some of the moderators on here have attitudes beyond control. For example, I posted something off-topic in the after hours forum as usually thats where everyone posts their non-sensical ramblings. It got moved to the cuckoo's nest by a moderator as he felt in his infinite wisdom that that is where it belonged. I didn't argue with his decision, infact I didn't care but I got a message from the admin in the cuckoo's nest that my post didn't belong in there.

When I told him that I didn't put it there and that it had been moved there, he started to get all uppity with me. I told him that if trying to push someone around on an internet forum made him feel bigger then by all means, go for it. Then he warned me that he would ban me if I continued to post. I advised him that I wasn't worried about him banning me from a sub-section of boards that I never read and never post in and that I never actually posted there in the first place, but that a moderator moved my post there.

He banned me afterwards, which goes to show that boards.ie = communism.ie. I don't really get involved in the whole arguments with the admins on here as it's not worth the time. Some of them are sound, some of them hold onto their "internet forum power" like it was gold. I figure it's best to stay out of their way as there are some cool people on this forum and once they make their decision, it's usually final. It's really not worth the hassle.

Once banned it take a heck of long time for Ecskor to unban anyone.

I see, well that clears it up. All I saw was Kevin sahying hello and Ecksor kicking and banning him. As you can imagine, it didn't look fair and just from my perspective.

despite whatever he may have done on the other forums he should atleast still be allowed to post in this, our own martial arts - self defence forum, none of the people he supposedly annoyed post here, true he said he annoyed Amz who is apparently a mod of our community but honestly ive never seen a post by her here.

he was always helpful and he himself was the main driving force behind our upcoming community gathering, i'll say that again community, its posters like him who give this place a lively feeling, if we remove such people we'd be left with an unlively, sterile forum, it'd be like reading a doctors text book, we may aswell google search for info.

now i know i'm but a lowly underling, an expendable minion, i've posted little, i've no subscription and no paypal to get1, so theres no reason to listen to me, yet i'm frequently logged in, read every post, occasionaly voice an opinion and have recommended this site to friends, so i believe i am a part of our community, be it a small1 and our voices should count for something.

None of you saw the creepy pm's he was sending my little sister (Snorlax). Then he felt the need to refer to her as being "simple, stupid and naive". That irritated me, in fact in irritated me greatly - I've known her 20 years and she is none of the three (well maybe slightly naive ). I really hope he doesnt get back on boards - but thats just my opinion.

Ok i know I dont normally post here but every other "Free Kevin" thread ends up locked before I get a chance to say anything. (and besides, god knows he spammed the UCD forum enough)

As Asok has already pointed out, Kevin was banned from IRC and was trying to get around that ban with a different name.
He continuously acted the muppet in there, insulting absolutely everyone that disagreed with his inane ramblings.

Even in the prison forum he has twice mentioned my personal relationship in the most childish manner, yet he has the cheek to get offended at Snorlax for talking about PM's he has sent her. :rolleyes:

I agree 100% with this ban. The guy has slagged off too many people for too long. He may be fine in person, but unfortunately ecksor only has his posts to go by.

Lets face facts, boards these days is rife with mods who suffer from "little man with big badge" syndrome. I say we invite all parties to engage in dialogue face to face this sunday. It would be interesting to see if certains parties online attitudes carry over into the real world
