Would anyone be interested in starting horseriding lessons? I want to myself but don't want to join a class with kids or with adults who have loads of experience. Need one or two more for an adults beginner class on Thursday out near Swords at 7.30p.m. 20 euro a lesson.

I didn't feel there was a suitable category under Sports to post this thread. Is horse-riding not something that can help someone keep fit too?

To a certain extent. It requires strong legs and can be tiring when it gets more advanced. Doing a raising trot for 10 minutes when you're not used to it will be very tiring. You'd probably get a better response if this was posted in After Hours.

Thanks for the suggestion - posted in After Hours. Doesn't seem many people are interested in horse-riding though.

I did one class of horse-riding before and my butt and thighs were sore for two full days afterwards. Tough but fun y'know.

Is it that you don't want to take lessons on your own, or that there isn't enough demand somewhere to warrant the class?

I go to Killegar Stables near Enniskerry (not northside I know), and they do beginner lessons at the weekend, and as far as I know, during the week too.. if you were interested..

    Kevin.

They feel that a beginner wouldn't warrant a private lesson and there isn't enough demand for a beginner's adult class.

I don't have a car so I'm limited as to where I can travel to for these lessons. Thanks all the same Kevin.

Why not just join one of the intermediate classes? They won't get you to do anything you're not capable of that others in the class might be doing.
