So i've been training regularly for 4 months now and its goin really well.I've gotten up to 45 mins on the treddy at speed 10 km/h.Anyway my point is i cant run or do any cardio because i've developed this acute pain in my right achilles tendon.I have also started a new bar job tonight and as you could imagine all the walking is not helping.

Anyway i am goin to see a physio on friday but i was wondering if anybody here has any short term pain relief techniques. Is there any stretch i could do to minimise the pain.I'm gonna start taking ponstan tomorrow so i'll see how that goes.Any advice would be much much appreciated.

    Cheers lads and lassies

    Dan

Well, you could take a painkiller, such as panadol, or neurofen. Or rub some oruvail on it?

    RICE
    Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation

    Rest speaks for itself

Ice = Frozen Peas or similar (with a towel) applied on it

Compression = compression bandage (like you can get from a nurse)

Elevation = Put it up on a footstool etc anytime you can (watching TV etc)

Achilles injuries take time to heal (up to 6 months) from personal + a friend's experience, don't rush back into training.
