Im just wondering what you might recommend for someone trying to gain/maintain muscle while losing fat in the way of supplements. Also do's anyone have any experiance with thermogenic type supplements and free form amino acids.

Avoid anything which claims to be a diet pill as they are at best a placebo with no active ingredient and at worst contain substances that can do serious damage to your heart.

Eat healthy and supplements help along the way. Don't rely on them though as it is all the other lifestyle changes that will make the bigger impact.

Don't take thermogenic tablets. They're EXTREMELY bad for you.

If you want to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, high intensity resistance training is best. Be sure to eat protein with every meal. Cut the crap out of your diet. Train in the morning on an empty stomach.

LOL! The old adage "If its too good to be true...." :)
I was kinda worryed that they sounded a little dodgy, and I hate ephedra. They sound bad for the head too, I can just image the jitters :D

What would be reccomended in the way of amino's tho, and also I wont have access to a gym(will switch back to push-up's, crunchs and squats) for a while, so Im wondering what will help me keep my gains in the meantime.

The Amino Energise tabs from Tony Quinn are pretty good I've found. Their protein's pretty good too. I find the rest of their supplements are rubbish but if you're looking for amino tablets, they're the ones. Don't let their asshole sales staff talk you into buying anything else though.
