Come one, about 4 people regularly post on here. It just won't do! If this doesn't pick up I'll have to drag more Mikado people on here....and we don't want that now do we!

Come on, someone tell me something interesting about Maynooth that I don't know. I've only been here a year, there must be some stories to tell.

    sorry!
    i misrepresented myself.
i was laughing at the enthusiasm, not at the fact that the music dept is legend. academically - the music department is unparalleled. socially - please god give me refuge.

This place would be a lot more popular with Maynoothians if it wasn't for Mikado I think.

i was on there for a while, it's too cliquey for my liking so i left. if you dont go to their "drinkies" and suck up to all the regulars then you dont have a chance with them. i much prefer this place.

That could've been a better 1000th post BTW. But congratulations.
I don't think stories involving me or the goat are appropriate to share with the public. It might be best if some of them go the grave with us. Trust me. :D

coming on to you - no, you both know thats wrong on so many levels, which one would have to leave the house after the other made them cry?

Well I got given my itinerary at last this evening and I'm going a day earlier than I thought. Which means an extra day in Edinburgh when I'm finished in London. Fantabulous!! So I'm leaving in the morning (might see you on the bus actually LG) The Zoo also gave me a nice little bit of "spending money" for the 2 days I'm in London so Harrods here I come! :D

See you boys when I get back xxx

I'm sorry but could somebody please explain the whole Mikado thing to me?
I've been on their board for incoming students and it's been really helpful and the people posting seem very nice but some of the comments here make them sound like Maynooth's version of The Plastics (if you don't know what I'm talking about, please do yourself a favour and watch the movie Mean Girls). Just curious...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 160 ✭✭jsr

My time in the 'nooth was demented and great craic, the forum may be dead but the place rocks(unless the houseparty culture has died). Its prob cos the village is so small that people dont have to post to organise/plot anything as you can just go to the SU or a short walk to Roost.

It's not that bad....I know a few sound people on there. I suppose to some people it does look like they have a clique thing happening but the only way to change that is to join them. The more new people they get the better and that will stop the close knit thing some of them have going on.

Actually I hate Mikados funnily enough..
But what is the Mikado soc though? Just a social group thingy? I still haven't grasped what it actually is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,598 ✭✭✭joe316

gotta agree mikado is a very tough group to break into, god how many times we tried to take the society down but other than that it ok for a laugh to see how serious some people take it.

to answer your question into what it does, **** all to be honest just seems to be a place where people who are afraid to met each other in real life talk about "adult" matters, they also dont seem to like tubgirl, goatse, bukkake etc.

also just mentioning that we (csse3/4) will be having drinks this saturday in the roost, just see anyone in a hoffsegen tshirt and say hello

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 368 ✭✭Maynooth

Another Hoff fan? He's taking over Maynooth!
