That's the fourth time I've seen this, this morning. A complete retard drawing to 3 outs on the river hits it. Two of those times I was on the recieving end. What's the odds of a 3 outer on the river, about 15-1?

Not to mind the amount of times I've seen rivered full houses beating straights and flushes which should be a 4-1 occurance but seems to me to be 1 - 1.

It doesn't seem to happen as much on the higher levels, but that seems to me to be because they know how to fold. Perhaps they'd be better off not folding, from what I've seen. I really do have doubts, as these are the guys who should be going broke in 5 minutes yet they seem to keep getting the cards to keep them in the game. Of course, a big unregulated corporation wouldn't be involved in any sort of behind the scenes manipulation to increase profits, so that can't be it.

Have to get myself a credit card and try a few other sites, I've seen way too many miracles on PPP.

I'm afraid it happens at all levels. I was playing 1/2 for a while and you see it there also. Fellows calling 4/5 X bb raises preflop with 64o and hitting a four and staying for all bets. I know you'll make money on these players in the long run but its still a pain when they suck out on you. I really do think its the fact that they are muppets rather than any site you're playing on.

Isn't that a 2 outer he hit or am I missing something. Course that makes it worse :)
Reminds me of the time a guy hit a King on the river in an omaha game to get a better house than his opponent. His opponent wasn't 2 happy and said "you hit your 3 outer". I gleefully said "Actually it was a 1 outer, I had pocket Kings". "Even better", he said.

This hand cost you $5. 5 ****ing $$$!! That's it???? What's that? 15% of a buy in for this level? God help you when you lose 4 buy ins in an hour.

    STOP PLAYING PPP !!!!

    its not real poker........
odds dont count in PPP. go in when you are behind, you win more often. I tried it and cleaned up!

Try another site if you actually want the best hand to win. PokerStars seem to have read the rules of poker. Actually won with aces there yesterday.........

Heheh, I've lost some buyins fairly rapidly at higher levels, I'm not complaining about losing $5 :)
My point isn't how much it cost (although it could cost you alot), it's about how often this is happening. Which is way too often.

    DapperGent wrote:

I grabbed this one because I logged off straight after it. I'm afraid it's too tedious to search through 100's of hands for 3 bad beats when I can't remember the specifics. I normally make a note of hand if I'm going to search for it later.

    :D:D:D

Don't get me started on aces. And as someone else pointed out, I it was actually a 2 outer in this case. I suppose that's the only way you can keep making rake off the sub-retard players, throw them a few miracles and keep them sweet.
I'll give Pokerstars a go as soon as I get the credit card.

I'm saying if there's a you have a flush or a straight, the rivered full house seems to be a 1-1 occurance rather than a 4-1.

Please stop. Everyone has bad beats every hour that they sit at a poker table. I don't mind reading a bad beat if its in some way interesting but these are really nothing to post about.

Doesn't get any worse that. :D
981-1 on the flop I think, isn't it?

The worst beat cash wise I had was AA allin vs QQ on the flop and he rivered a Q to clean me out of $100. The knock on effect of it cost me at least another $100 though. :D
Don't know how I'd cope with losing a good sum to the kind of beat in your post.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

yeh the worst beats are more interesting but it doesnt mean they annoy u the worst. While ive been reading this I've just seen $150 dollars turn into $0 in the space of about 10 hands.

Aces beaten by 88 on the river
    Flush beaten by higher flush
straight beaten by flush on the river
Kings beaten by 66 on the FCUKIN RIVER!!!!

Now these may not be exiting to read but other than typing crap in the chat box this is the only way I can relieve some stress and stop myself from putting my fist through the fcukin screen.

Why cant pokerstars just take laser cards? Keep having to pour money into Fcukin PPP.

AGGGHHHH I FCUKIN HATE THE SITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY THE FCUK DO I KEEP PLAYIN THIS FCUKING BINGO............

wouldnt really say im that unlucky. I have my fair share of good/bad luck in most games but it just seems that PPP and the Merrion Casino are fcukin jinxed for me. I just
cannot catch a break in either one.

i can avoid the Merrion because the fitz is around the corner and is thankfully a hundred times better. However, Im having trouble putting cash into my Pokerstars account and therefore have to resort to PPP to play online.

Gonna have to get a credit card soon cos this fcukin mickey mouse poker is really staring to wreck my head. Theres just no skill involved if 'miracle' cards consistently hit on the river. I tried playing 'badly' the other day and ended up winning a fair amount. If i had balls i really would see if you could consistently win money by playing badly........

    PS

Just got Ace high flush beaten by straight flush !!!!! What the fcuk!!
As Nicky says - that ****s not right!!

this is unbelievable.... im going to bed before i go on tilt.... my head is spinning from this fcukin game.....wtf

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 275 ✭✭Tackle

Take deep breaths and count to 10, heheh. I've had an Ace high flush beaten by a straight flush as well before, it's a real pisser alright.

It seems to me that the higher limits are the way to go as the players are capable of folding so are less likely to hit their all too common miracle outers. That and you can actually read them to know when they have the nuts and not just two pair.

It really becomes more like bingo the lower you go. I've tried .10/.20 .25/.50 and .5/1 and it seems if you want to minimize the 'miracle factor' you have to play at .5/1. At .10/.20 it's like playing against retarded monkeys but someone keeps throwing them a bone and it's alot harder to clean them out than it should be.

Ladbrokes take laser too. By the way a flush losing to a higher flush, and an Ace high flush losing to a straight flush are not neccessarily bad beats if you completed your hands with the same cards.

You must not have your PC facing towards magnetic north. That's the only way to beat VC/PPP so that your aces never get cracked. Ask lafortezza.

You played it very well. I love the preflop raise.

Dunno, hard to pinpoint the exact mistake. Getting outdrawn is likely the main culprit though.

Having you been eating well lately? You should take vitamin suplements to augment your usual diet, which I assume is made up of the correct amount of fresh green veg and red meat. "Health before wealth" - that old poker maxim...

How about your sleeping patterns? Poker is a game of nightowls and your body rhythms can get confused leading to an increase in frequency and severity of outdraws. Leaving the window open during the night can help adjust the odds on PPP and VC, due to the cool air from outside affecting the internal components (specifically the processer) of your PC which, when logged onto the internet the next day reduce the amount of 1's and increasing the amount of 0's being sent to PPP/VC through your connection and over the interweb.
A large proportion of 1's leads to that dreaded "VC pause on the river" before the horrible flush card hits. And to a lesser extent under cards hitting a jammy 2 pair vs your overpair.

Among leading poker theorists and author recently there has been a major discussion regarding AA being cracked. It has been put forward that all poker texts and odds calcultors be edited and adjusted to reduce the % favourite that those pesky "Pocket Rockets" are over the remaining range of hands. This would obviously mean that the bullets become less bullet-proof if you will allow me a little joke there.

The fact remains that all of the above could simply be conjecture on my part and that you are,in fact, just another whining muppet who lost a single hand of poker.

I think in fairness to North1, who is playing the .10/.20 game afterall, that he is looking for a bit of advice on his play, to see if he played his hand correctly.

    I didn't sense any whinge.

    A little OTT lafortezza IMHO.

He's posted a hand history of aces getting cracked in a thread devoted to pointless ignorant braindead whining and conspiracy theory. How could you miss it?

If he actually wanted to get some advice he would have posted it somewhere else. He just wants sympathy and someone to tell him that the other guy played it wrong just like half the fúcking posts on this board.

In fact this board has gone to total shít. The soccer board has more intelligent debate and worthy threads in it. We should never have let the fúcking riff-raff in.

Woah, someone got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning!

"Riff-Raff" lol, you might want to get down from that horse, it looks pretty high, it could be dangerous.
