Im just under 14 st (height 5' 11") the mo but want to go back to my ideal weight of 12 and half. I want to lose around a stone and a half which is around 10 kgs if my calc is correct.

What is the best way to do this. Im not a great person for changing eating habits and all that, although I dont eat that much I just lead a very sedentary life style at the moment.

Im a bit of a novice at the gym although I know of the dfferent exercies, which ones will benift me most?

Should I concentrate on cardio or mix it with a good bit of weights. I actually enjoy lifting weights but I find cardio(Running on a threadmill especially) very boring.

I was thinking on the lines of 45 min cardio then around 30 min weights 3 times a week.

    What do ye think?
How long would it take to lose that 10 kgs? Would 2 months be too optimisitc?

i dont know if you want to look 12 stone or actually weigh 12 stone but what i can say is cardio loses the weight and weights build muslce which weighs more than fat. so effectively if you did weights all day long you would gain weight eventually. so mix the two. lift weights for half an hour or whatever and do another half an hour or more of cardio afterwards while your metabolism is high.

2 months isnt too optimistic as long as your not leaving you motivation behind int he gym and going home to a pizza and a night of vegetation in front of the tv. balance it out...eating crap nullifies your hard work in the gym not the other way round so you will either stay the same or just get worse.

Whatever you do, do it slowly and remember its more important to lose weight for life, not for an event. You need to change a lot of your normal behavioural patterns such as making yourself more active and eating differently. All that takes effort and you have to be happy in the process for it all to stick
