I tend to eat quite alot of bananas. When im in work its hard to grab something quickly between meals and bananas always seem handy.
At the minute im trying to put on a bit of weight.Ive been in the gym about 4 days a week for the last 4/5 years or so and am very happy with my general body fat, size, progress etc(although as i said i wouldnt mind gaining a few pounds).
So what im wondering is are the bananas doing me any good? Are they a good snack considering im eating plenty of good healthy meals(plenty of protein, fish, chicken, veg, brown rice, brown bread etc) and drinking plenty of water and that or are they a bad thing to be eating very regularly?(were talking about 2 a day im not sure if that counts as alot).
    Cheers.

If you're not worried about your weight they're fine. Not so good if you are dieting, i.e. trying to lose weight.

In that case, what is the best fruit? Bananas are also terrible for farts!

Tomatoes are low in calories, not sure what other fruits are low, but I guess other ones that are not very sweet, like grapefruit or some berries. Bananas are high in calories

Thats cool.Cheers.I was pretty much eating them thinking that they filled me and would be a decent enough thing to eat for a snack while im trying to put on a bit of weight. It was just that people always seemed to be saying "dont be eating too many bananas" so i was just looking to clear that up.

I hadnt realised that Banans were high in calories. What fruit could I eat to fill myself (ie my 3 o clock meal) that wont be filled with calories?

AFAIK bananas and grapes are no good if you are dieting because of the high sugar content. However, apart from bananas no other fruit fills me up.

Stick with eating bananas if that's all you're having for your 3 o'clock snack. It's a much better alternative to eating chocolate or crisps.

Just choose a low GI fruit such as apples, pears, cherries (verygood right now) etc..

People who are looking to drop body fat should really be looking at getting the basics right before looking at whether to avoid fruit.

I personally would tend to have nuts and a sweet fruit after most workouts e.g. dried figs and almonds.

Just finished a 26km run last night and works really well - then had a proper meal 30mins later
