inverted nipples

This has been bothering me for a long, long time. I just need to know if any other women around have this problem because my doctor said it is more common than I think, but I have never known any other woman to have inverted nipples and you never see them in movies or in porno.

The fact is, since I was a little girl the ends of my breasts are soft and go slightly in instead of out. It has caused me to shy away from getting in a relationship and when I do I never let it get very far. I guess I'm afraid I will disappoint a man and also that he might tell his friends and I am very ashamed of my difference even though it was the way I was born and I've no control over the way they are.

I have talked to my doctor and as I said, he said they are not that uncommon and not to worry. Yet I do.
How do the men out there feel about this? Would it be a factor in your interest in a girlfriend? Also, would you want her to tell you before you found out on your own and wondered why they weren't normal?

Any guy that gets that far won't be bothered - seriously, none.

You're grand - no red-blooded male would mind.
    Seriously.
    None.

If it makes you that selfconsious, leave your bra on. (That can be major turn on anyway!) ;)

    couldn't agree more
there is no such thing as a perfect human being*
everyone of us have something to complain about with regards to our bodies, it's time to start teaching yourself to be comfortable with your brests.
Buy yourself some snazzy bras, the next bloke you sleep with should be told that there is a certain celtic royal family going back centuries who only has this trait, he's lucky to be sleeping with you ;) - humour, the breaker of all things icey and uncomfortable.

    What he said!

    Actually, sounds kind of sexy.
Do they pop out when they're erect ?

It would be of absolutely no concern. I don't think it's even an issue with breast-feeding and is rather common AFAIK.

And for heaven's sake stop comparing yourself (and any partner) to porn stars.

It isn't a problem for guys, I knew a girl once with the same thing and I never complained, it's not that strange really. As Beruthiel said, we're all not perfect.

You've seriously got nothing to worry about at all! There's no reason to tell him out straight, unless the topic comes up and yere both in bed together, plus no one has the perfect body that they're completely happy with, so stop worrying.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 145 ✭✭Chavster

As above, this would not be a problem at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,589 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

absolutely nothing to worry about, i very much doubt anyone would care at all. If you're very selfconscious about it, i know someone who has the same and just got nipples pierced which keeps em out all the time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,109 ✭✭✭sutty

I'm pretty sure (speaking as a guy) That it would not matter at all.. infact I am damned sure. Boobies are Boobies after all and they are all different and all good... well unless there somewhere around your ankles

But to be honest, as long as a guy can "use" them to his advantage doing those naked moments. I douth he would care in any way shape or form.

    Total non-issue.

I presume they stick out anyway when they go hard - even if they don't, it's not a problem,

I think it's pretty common. I remember seeing some ad in the back of Cosmo or some other stupid womans mag, some little plastic round cover you put over your nipples that might make them protrude a bit more over time. Do they exist or am I imagining things?

Anyway try not to let it bother you, it really isn't a big deal. Boobs are boobs, as the sutty-man says.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 599 ✭✭✭jinxycat

yes those plastic things do exist indeed and can help to bring them out. think you can get them in a chemist, many mid-wifes will recommend them if a woman decides to breast feed and they have inverted nipples. it's the first question they'll ask about your beasts if you decide to breast feed so i'm sure you can get them in a chemists no problem.

    hope this helps the OP.

Thank you all so much! You have no idea how much better I feel about this now, it's like a load off my mind
    koneko-I haven't seen that ad.
rebel-I'll have to look into that piercing idea if it works
Again, thank you to everyone who took the time to reply!

I've no idea how I've heard of it but I'd definitely heard of those as well. ~Rebel~'s suggestion is perhaps a little extreme but would definitely work.

And no, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, assuming they pop out when erect it could even be a bit of a turn on tbh. (though I am a bit kinky!)

To be honest, it's should be about how you feel about yourself, rather than how you feel others will percieve you.

There are various simple surgecial procedures around that would correct this - try a google on it.

I went out with a girl who had an inny. It didnt bother me in the slightest. It is very common also. Do not be worried about this!

Also the product in question is Nipplette as far as Im aware. It can be gotten in Boots.

How you feel about yourself is derived from your perception of how others perceive you.

In this case she is worrying about nothing as it's not something that would bother guys - full stop. In fact, I'd wager there would be more than a few that would have their interests piqued by such a variation on the theme.

    OP
Wouldnt bother me in the slightlest, Definetly not a problem to me!
    Just remember
    LIFE is not a porno
If it was I'd have to worry, that I dont have a chiselled enough face, my biceps arent big enough, I'm not tall enough, I dont have a washboard stomach etc. list is endless
Porno stars are not the norm, all they (generally) do is look good and thats it, personally I'd prefer a brain, personality and numerous other qualities, vain porn stars are (generally) void of, and wouldnt be holding them on a pedestal
We are all different shapes sizes etc, otherwise life would be dull.

Have got this far in my life, and its never been a problem ;) . Avent make Niplette, takes about two months to see a full effect. Does work tho!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 318 ✭✭qwertyphobia

as most people have said not a problem.

Girls can be so highly critical of themselves often usualy about things guys won't even notice

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,639 ✭✭✭Laguna

I just like the knockers themselves really lol, i don't care if the nipples are in, out, to the side, green...well i'd mind if they were green

I imagine many of the bigger ones would. Not sure about the smaller ones.

I've seen pictures of a few models with one or both nipples inverted. Kate Moss comes to mind, but I'm not very sure about that.

    "Different" does not mean "bad"
