It's a toss up between Orbital's Belfast and Transformer2's Pacific Symphony

A few others spring to mind but their names escpae me, or else I don't have the tracklist from the mix they're in...

In album terms I would say either Underworld's Dubnobasswithmyheadman or Leftfield's Leftism.

I song terms off the top of my head:

Primal Scream - Higher then the Sun & Damaged (from Screamadelica)
Portishead - It's my fire & It could be Sweet (from Dummy)

Right I'll never pick one so in no particular order:

SoundCrowd - Drugs / The Easy Does It (Mark Kavanagh Drugs Remix) / Romeo
    Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
    Miro - Paradise
    Orbital - One Perfect Sunrise
Rising High Collective - Fever Called Love
    Sensation - Beautiful Morning
    Desert - Moods
    Tom Cole - Devotion
    Sunscreem - Love You More
Air - Playground Love or All I Need
Faithless - Bring My Family Back
Y Traxx - Mystery Land (one of the remixes)
    Chicane - Red Skies
Deep Dish - Floating (1st track from George is On)

    For sheer energy:
Underworld - King of Snake or Cowgirl Live.

Couldnt possibly pick out one track, ill list a few in a while i mull over it :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,945 ✭✭✭Anima

    Goldie - Mother
Autechre - Nil, Nine.... theres plenty more
DJ Shadow - Stem, Blood on the motorway... also more
    Plaid - Ralome
    Squarepusher - Tundra

I suppose it really comes down to what "does it" for you, I'm sure a song will mean something to one person and nothing to another.

I have lots too but as mentioned a few times already, Orbital - Belfast is certainly one of them. Also, Paragliders - Paragliders (Rising High). One of the most amazing trance tracks ever made imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,035 ✭✭✭Bri

Good ol' Orbital seem to be leading the pack. I even heard them played in Dundrum S.C. today which was nice (Beached)!

Never seen the attraction to that DJ Shadow track myself unless it's another one I'm thinking of.

There's so much that has moved me, but I'll agree with Cloud Cookoo. Practially anything by Ulrich Schnauss too, especially his album A Strangely Isolated Place - amazing music.

Wait, I've changed my mind, and even though it's not strictly dance music it's been rolled into a lot of mixes I've heard:

    Bladerunner (Main titles) by Vangelis

Very few other tracks I can think of that send a shiver down the spine every time you hear them...think it was done on a Moog synth(?)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 316 ✭✭BACKLASH

There's one or 2 tracks off the Aphex Twin's selected ambient works 2,
but i think they're untitled, & as much as i hate Moby, God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters is amazing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,235 ✭✭✭iregk

For me the most moving piece was without doubt.

BT - Flaming June (beautiful tune that)
