I'm so proud to be a Northsider now I know the US ambassador lives in this part of Dublin. Having that and the airport suits me down to the ground.

To bring up some really crappy jokes but hey...

Ever wonder why they built the airport on the northside? To encourage them to leave.

    'nuff said.

    Any southsiders in boards land????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,479 ✭✭✭Volvoboy

    TimTim,

dublin airport is on the northside for a very good reason, as its the 1st port of call for any tourist coming into the capital,

and hey we must be doing somthing right i just heard tourists are on the increase in the capital ( Dont know the stats )

If they ( Tourists ) came in ur end of the liffey they'd be leaving speaking verbal crap that u people speak.

Like its that getting through roysh, roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like
roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like
roysh like roysh like roysh like roysh like

For those luck few who do know how to speak roysh means Right. ;)

Ironically the President lives on the Northside but has a southside postcode, Dublin 8, so she's trying to pass herself off as a southsider!

Dublin Airport is on the northside because the northside has a surplus amount of garbage dumps and abondoned land.

I wonder where Ikea is going?

(Why am I saying this?! I'm a northsider!

    /bangs head against wall)

And the M50 brings them to the south side, what's your point? Also, Grafton Street is South Side but Arnotts is North Side (great shop for running gear). No difference

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭magick

also to factor into this is the shiny tracksuit and teen pram squad ratio of north to south

Squirrel, I originally wrote this thread to see if the north or the south of Dublin is the best
So far my mapping skills have been called into question and my vocabulary.

You're bloody right, you settled it before you wrote the post when you titled it:"Im settleing this one and for all!!!!!!!!!" shows northsiders have a distinct lack of good education.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,227 ✭✭✭✭Sparky

Southside has the Central bank and the gov. buildings and city hall and temple bar and dublin castle, we also have landsdown rd, rte and tv3 and all the oil and poolbeg generating station

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,688 ✭✭✭grimloch

the southside has loads of great things, Grafton Street, Trinners, UCD, me, that Dundrum place, we don't have the spire though.

Northside also has the Luas (the red line), before it crosses the river and heads towards Tallaght
However, most of the incidents of the Luas trams crashing into cars that have attempted to drive through red lights have happened on this stretch which is on the northside. So maybe northsiders also cannot drive properly.

Anyway, this is a crappy attempt to settle the debate 'once and for all'.

northside only has red luas from connolly to museam (15min walk), so seems a bit pointless...red line is kinda bad though...green line is a lot better, runs more frequently/ faster

i love the luas because you can stay for an extra pint in town and catch the last luas at 12.45 on a friday

God, you're as bad as the nordies bickering over stupid unimportant crap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,227 ✭✭✭✭Sparky

yeah were just bickering about the issue, but atleast wont go around killing each other, its all good fun and whoever takes it to serious needs to relax, so lets enjoy it.

Oh yeah it will end up on the southside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,227 ✭✭✭✭Sparky

    Well maybe you should.

Listen DonkeyStyle im not sure what way i should interperet your last post, but im sure your a decent person, and this is a silly issue which is fun to post in, afterall were all dubs at the end of the day, so just relax and have a little fun OK.

hey are you sayin all the southsiders are posh, rugby playin, daddys beamer drivin, ponces? thats not right! ok i propose we change the debate to north v south v west.

    so the debate goes:
south has all them feckin southsiders,
north has all them feckin northsiders, and
west has all the good stuff!

    Settled. ;)
