Upload speeds- Ever going to increase?

Just a quick question, Does anyone have any idea if Eircom/ BT will ever upgrade their standard upload speeds past 128 to possibly 256? Anyone know if they have any plans to upgrade or if not do you think they will anytime soon? Cheers lads, CrimE.
