Yes, done it twice. Rest alot. And when its getting better, do weights to strengthen the area. Tie weight to the end of your leg, and lie on your back and lift up.

    12x 3 reps

In fairness, the best person to ask is the physio in question as they are the experts in this field. Just be patient, if you are too eager to exercise, then you may exacerbate the injury.....

hey guys thanks for all the replies.

the physio didnt give me a timeframe as its up to myself now. ive been doing plenty of stretching, i was just wondering if anybody found anything that would speed up the process.

im working in a hardware so i have some heavy lifting to do and everyday in work seems to put me back a step. its a very slow healer so far. the reason i want to get back quickly is that i play soccer.

im told this injury is related to kicking the ball, well at least it could be related to. so i really need to have it right before i start playing ball again.

Yea, it stresses when kicking. Ice it alot. and do weights on it and stretch. and make sure you have patience. Fix it propper instead of doing worse damage.

What sort of injury is it? a tear, strained, pulled? I'd avoid doing weights on it for a couple of weeks at least. Here's a couple of exercises that only use your body weight as resistance.
1: sit on floor, back straight legs spread place both hands one on each side of the leg then keeping leg straight lift it off the ground 3 x 8 reps.
2: Hang from a chin up bar, and raise legs to the bar trying to get your toes not ankles to the bar.

actually the physio didnt specify whether it was a strain or pulled. he just said it was damaged. its not a tear. so im guessing pulled. its being at me for sometime now. i have a few lunges and such to be doing. they are giving me great relief but not healing it completely just yet.

dont rush the recovery. Rest is important too.
