Can anyone tell me? Id be very grateful. One thing that really bugs me about gyms is when they dont simply tell you the membership fees over the phone.

    Edit: Clontarf or Leopardstown

Its €70 per month once joined.
The joining membership fee was €50 because my employer has a discount joining scheme with Westwood, I think the regular joining fee is €200 ?

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

yeah, regular joining is Eur 200, although when a mate of mine joined he filled out a referral form with both our details and the joining fee was reduced to Eur 100

Eur 70 for peak, and Eur 50 for off peak, they might have differnet times for each gym though, www.westwood.ie would have contact info for the one you want to join / use most to tell you the times

they have different rates for youth/student/older too

    Hi kazzer,

I just joined a coulp of weeks ago, you should look around for people selling their membership.

I managed to buy a years membership for 500, so i saved about 500, the guy won it on the radio. I came across two people over a period of 2weeks that where selling there membership one on boards and one on the buy and sell, the one on boards did not work out, it was a bit suspect. so you should be able to find someone but be carefull make sure they met up at the gym to sign it over.

    best of luck

Westwoods gyms used to be good, but all their good trainers are gone from Clontarf, they never had any at Leopardstown, and equipment is same as you would find in Ben Dunnes !!!

Why is still maintains the Rep as best Gym in Dublin is beyond me......

    Hey

WestWood gym membership - valid in all westwood gyms - Sandymount, Clontarf, and Leopardstown.

Cost is 65 euro transfer fee (I would be willing to pay this for you) and then 75 euro per month.

The contract runs until March 2011 meaning you will only be bound into 9 payments of 75 euro so its a good way for someone to give westwood a try without tying themselves in for a year.

Method of transfer involves me meeting you at a westwood gym with WestWood management where you/I pay the 65 euro fee then its 75 euro a month to westwood.

The gym is fantasic and has the most wonderful warm sea water pool, spa and beauty parlour on site, I would have loved to stay at the gym, but I had to leave Dublin cause of work commitments. If anyone could help me out, i would be eternally grateful..

I'm currently am off-peak member and pay 55 a month. I wonder if there is anyone who has successfully tried to negotiate with them for a cheaper rate.
    thanks

anyone know what their annual rate is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 188 ✭✭tomdublin

It's 55 off-peak and 75 peak per month. They initially try to charge you 499 "joining fee" but they dont expect you to pay more than 70 (just threaten to walk away and they will call you back with a better offer). I don't think you can negotiate the monthly fees though. Leaving is easy, just cancel your direct debit (that's what I did) - they will never go to court even though they might threaten to as it's more expensive for them. That said, unless you want a big pool it's not worth joining WW as the equipment is getting old, the gym foor is very messy and the facilities are ageing and a bit filthy - the new Dunnes gym in the cc is much nicer. Hope this helps.
