Not sure if this is the rigth place, but anyway...

" There has been an explosion at Aldgate East underground station in London, causing the closure of the entire Tube network...."

    SkyNews --> Here

    BBC News --> here

So how long before some "sources" start suggesting terrorist involvment?

    taking all bets.....

well sounds a bit much for a power surge.....

also 1 site says 'Aldgate' and another source says 'Liverpool Street', they aint the same place.

    weird indeed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,984 ✭✭✭✭Lump

radio 5live just said there are unconfirmed reports of 30 dead

and that the explosion possibly happened on one of the trains

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,008 ✭✭✭rabbitinlights

A seperate explosion on a bus has just happened...... just seen it on sky news.

The whole of the underground is shut down.

    This looks very bad........

I was thinking that the progress in the North must have helped the bid for the Olympics.
The tube system being down will make the city impossible. I was there during a tube strike before and it was hell.

I hope there isn't too many injuries. They are saying it was power surges.

That is a few such surges in the last few years maybe electricty is turning evil

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,474 ✭✭✭YeatsCounty

Reported explosions in the Tube system, and now an explosion on a London Bus.........f*ck.

As rabbitinlights said, this is looking extremely bad. :(

well i don't put much stock on what sky say anyway, unless i see it verified somewhere else.

But if it's true it looks like i'll have to eat some form of humble pie for my earlier cockyness

Theres no bins on the underground for the very reasons of people putting bombs in them.

Sky news make it sound like the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse are coming,

"The entire Tube network has been shut down following the blasts at Aldgate, Edgware Road, King's Cross, Old Street and Russell Square."

Wouldnt mind having access to a TV right now tbh

I live 2 minutes from Aldgate East tube station. Working from home today & for the past half an hour there have been many fire brigades and ambulances up and down the streets outside.

    :(

G8 started yesterday? Coincidence? I doubt it.

Hope it's just an isolated incident.

Still nothing on the BBC about the bus bomb. Until I see it there, I won't fully believe it (got to keep a little bit of hope).

There's going to be a hell of a lot of unconfirmed reports at a time like this.

a lot of rumours will start going around at a time like this, people start overeacting to everything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,225 ✭✭✭Ciaran500

Apparently a policeman has confirmed the bus explosion. And on sky now they are talking to someone who has apparently seen the bus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 932 ✭✭✭yossarin

it was a sky producer who saw the bus bomb firsthand, guardian says.

Any confirmed deaths? Websites simply stating "Many hurt", but there has to have been fatalities in the event of multiple explosions that ripped open a bus and detonated on the lines

keep the info coming guys... skynews and bbc etc websites are all getting slow...... too much traffic.... anything new?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,544 ✭✭✭redspider

    Probably the french after yesterday.............

    Definitely not the French.

This is a Major Incident. Go to a TV and Watch Sky or BBC24 or CNN or whatever. It looks like a co-ordinated terrorist bomb attack on Londo, no doubt to co-incide with the G8. Buses have been blown up, and there have been multiple explosions on the Tube. There are injuries and there must be deaths, alas.

I have been expecting something over the last couple of years to happen by Al Qaueda or related terrorist networks as a payback for the Iraq invasion. It looks like they bided their time and hit a soft target, as usual, the innocent people. I thought something would happen before the UK elections but it didnt.

People like Blair and Bush are safe, its the inncent people of this world who take the brunt of their ill-judged decisions, and unfortunately, the same innocent people of this world voted them back in recently.

Its looking like a tragic day for people in London.

A powersurge wouldn't cause a train to explode, they have safety measures in place to prevent that. There's no confirmed deaths yet but BBC say there's at least one person whos not looking good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,482 ✭✭✭RE*AC*TOR

3 separate bus explosions in city centre.
    2/3 explosions in underground.
witnesses saying bodies on the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,225 ✭✭✭Ciaran500

Bus bombs sounds big. It went off when people where piling onto the bus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 916 ✭✭✭MicraBoy

The number of dead will probably rise from several comfirmed fatalities, to a dozen, etc etc...

Given the circumstances and locations, there must be a considerable amount of deaths, unfortunately. :(

Lets watch it chinese whisper, and go out of all proportion. Peope are dead, 3 so far I think. But on News 24/ITV news/Sky

The National Power grid in england have allready stated that the power-surge thing is bull****, not a chance.

How about everyone waits to find out instead

Sky news and even some people on this thread are almost hoping / willing for a bomb
It's as if the more sensational the outcome the more entertained they will be.
