Reading through a Dream thread here suprised me in that i notice a lot of people get 10+ hours sleep each night, whereas i usually get 5 at the most. Am i in a minority with this?? Wouldnt have thought so until reading that other thread

So people, how long do you sleep each night?

Six. I don't know why but no matter what I've been doing or how much I've had to drink I am up six hours after I go to sleep.

I generally sleep 7 when I'm in Ireland. Here in Macedonia I sleep about 6 at night and generally a 4 hour siesta between about 3 and 7 o'clock, between the end of work and the start of the nightlife.

About 4-6 hours a night generally. Have serious trouble falling asleep (especially if I've anything on my mind)...

About 4 or 5 hours a night, 4 years of being a night owl student means i can't get to sleep before 3am, but my current job means i have to be up for about half 7.
try to make up for it on the weekends, but end up playing BF2 instead

For the past month or so I've had on average about 6 hours sleep a night at most.

Its really starting to kill me right now. I need to start going to bed early.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,518 ✭✭✭✭dudara

about 6 hours. Go to bed at 2 and up around 8. I tend to get 8 at the weekend, which is a big sleep in for me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,717 ✭✭✭Praetorian

I try and get 7 1/2 to 8 during the week, I really struggle through the day if I have any less than that (like today). I usually have one lie on every week on Saturday or Sunday.

I get about 5 1/2 hours a day, and the last few weekends have been the same - this weekend, I promise myself, lie in time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,929 ✭✭✭Raiser

I usually get about 8, but will wake feeling catatonic and wary of the world.

10 - 12 makes me recharged and happy - but guilty over missing so much of my day....

Albert Einstein used to recommend that people got at least 12 hours sleep!!!!

8-9 hours average, last night 11 hours (too much)

6-6.5 I guess. I'm yawning right now so obviously I need more but if my brain won't let me sleep then obviously it disagrees. I try and catch up at the weekend.

about 5-6 hours mon-fri and maybe 12 or so at the weekend.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 388 ✭✭da_deadman

Usually between 7 and 8 hours a night. And, for me, that's enough. A good solid 8 hours will have me totally refreshed and ready to face the big bad world. However, it's rare to get that because I usually can't get to sleep for a while and then I will probably wake up early and go back asleep.... btw I HATE magpies :)

6 during the week, 10+ at the weekends.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,287 ✭✭✭NotMe

4-6 hours. I CAN'T go to sleep early and I HAVE to get up early. 10+ hours on the weekend. I love switching off my alarm clock on Friday night. :)

    Ditto!

At the weekends, I always intend getting a sleep on, but end up waking up @ 9am anyway [suppose it is a sleep in ... it usually means 8 hours kip instead of 5.5 hours]

Nope i also get 5 hours, if that, every night. I work 7am to 7pm Mon to Fri so when i get home i would rather stay up late than go to bed at 10pm or something like that and get like 3 hours home time! I don't think so...

But i do make up for it at the weekends when i would get 12+ hours sleep

when school was on, about 7/8 hours. But now its the holidays around 11/12 hours

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,467 ✭✭✭✭Sleepy

Usually between 5 and 7 during the week and then at the weekends I tend to sleep for 8/9 hours. Permanently tired though so it's probably not to be recommended. Setting myself up to be able to surf the web from bed (laptop and wireless) was probably the dumbest move I ever made where my sleep cycles are concerned!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 222 ✭✭crazymonkey

6 to 7 hours usually, little more on weekends,

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,215 ✭✭✭FX Meister

Hmmm, about 6-7 hours a night. I find that instead of getting used to having that much sleep I'm getting used to the feeling of not having enough sleep throughout the day.
