Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of an accurate Ideal weight chart (height to weight ratio chart).

I tried a few different ones that i found on google but the differences in the results were unreal - they varied from underweight to overweight and anywhere in between.

    Thanks in advance

You're never going to get an accurate one. 6 foot guys who are skinny weight alot less than 6 foot guys who are muscular....

Being honest there are no accurate ways of measuring body fat that are cheap.
Best way is to get a scales and use the same one all the time. that way at least you're consistent. You can also go by eye or take regular photo's.
BMI is crap and all charts are crap too.

We had this discussion previously ;)

Height/weight charts are ok reference, but remember if you work out a lot, then they are inaccurate. Its a target to aim for, not an absolute value.

This was an "advanced" BMI computer I found. I liked it because it showed what percentile you are in for your weight.

    http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/av.htm

Theres a link on it to another pages with a few "ideal weight" calculations

That is more accurate as it reflects the statistical values of 1 standard deviation and 2 standard deviations used in medicine to delineate the normal and abnormal.

    on that page it states
Body Mass Index can be used to indicate if you are overweight or normal. But it can wrongly suggest fatness in people who are atheletic or muscular

    pretty obvious
