Everywhere I go seems to be full of annoying little drunken 18 year olds....anyone got any advice on where 25 - 30/35 year olds socialise in Dublin city?

Any of the pubs down and off Dawson St attract a more mature crowd:
    Cafe En Seine
    Ron Blacks
    The Duke
    Keoghs
    The Bailey
    Sam Sara

As Clarebear said, Hogans... although it can be full of students around the college terms.
The Village is also a good one. Ri'Ra too.
Plenty of places really... hope you find some good ones
Best keep away from local college haunts.

Mulligans on Poolbeg Street an old favourite of mine before I moved to Australia. Attracts a lot of intellectual types such as writers and editors long after the glory days of the Irish Press which was next door.

Only 23, but sick of the usual 18 year old crap. Prefer a more mature crowd.

Isn't Cafe En Seine full of posers though??

Yeah SamSara on Dawson Street is fast becoming one of my favourite Dublin pubs. Bit pricey but I really like the crowd.

Thomas Reades on Dame St. is a good spot. You have The Oak late bar and dance floor downstairs aswell. I've been going there a bit recently, and never see a young crowd. It's generally 23+, and I'm 28.

    Kevin.

Reads is a good auld spot alright and the music downstairs, if a bit loud is class alot of the time, wouldn't be suited to the younger 'generation'.

    Porterhouse is your only man.
And the new one is now open in what used be Judge Roy Beans.
Although they've sold out a bit now and are doing Guinness, Bulmers, Heineken (others??) on tap. Ah well. They have a Hemp beer there at the moment. Smells like a walk through Amsterdam!

That's not an older crowd...thought it was young enough last time I was there.

The Palace has a good mix of students and 'older types'. Best pub in Dublin I reckon. Really nice girls turning up there at the moment.

The Market Bar off Sth Grt Georges Street is a nice pub. Nice smoking area and high ceilings, 4 euro a pint of ale. I'm likin' it.

O'Neills in Pearse Street - can be quiet later, nice bar though
Kehoe's - not a bad place to start off.

O'neills is a bit too old manish for my liking.

The Mint Bar, in the basement of the Westin Hotel on Westmoreland Street is nice. It is expensive, the service can be slow and it can be hard to get seats if you are not in early, but it is nice and they have live music on Saturday nights, which usually gives a nice feel to the place. Disco bar it ain't!

wouldnt that be full of guests that are staying in the hotel though?

No Lilly81, like bars in many hotels, it is a public bar. I've often been in it with friends, in their 30s. It is in what was the vaults of the bank that was on the site, so it is a bit different. It is worth a look if you have never been. Go in the Westmoreland Street entrance to the Westin Hotel, across the lobby and down the stairs. They have signs for it. Try it.
