I do a lot of cardio work at the gym and in no time at all, i'm soaking in sweat. Nobody else in there seems to be in the same situation - everybody sweats a bit but I havn't seen anyone drenched in the stuff.
I do drink before coming in but so do others and they don't sweat as much.

What is it about some peoples physiology that leads to this?

I sweat like a pig too, its a variant of normal and does no harm. Just make sure you drink enough to compensate. Maybe you are making more effort than the others?

Pigs, apparently, are pretty poor sweaters and in some breeds they hardly sweat at all.

So you don't sweat like a pig.

You probably sweat like a horse...

i sweat a lot in general to be honest, i've always been self concious about it and i choose my clothes carefully. But in the gym i try not to let it bother me, after all, it's a gym.

Me too. Even walking up to the post office today had me sweating and it wasn't even that warm. I'm not fat or unfit, I just sweat a lot. I tend to panic a lot and be very concious too though so maybe that's something to do with it.

I used to sweat a LOT at the gym... however, I notice that after doing one bout of intense exercise per day and taking a cold shower, I won't sweat for the rest of the day, no matter what I do - which is a great thing really.

Plus, personally, I *love* walking out of the gym covered in sweat - it gives the impression that you've been working your ass off (which you have been doing of course :)!).

I wasn't really concerned about the appearance of me sweating buckets - more curious as to why I do and others don't (to the same extent) - as was demostrated again this evening.
I find that if i drink in the middle of a cardio workout, theres an acceleration in the volume of sweat streaming out the pores within a minute - i'm not surprised that it does - but the speed at which it does.
I did google the subject before posting - and there is a history of thyroid problems on one side of the family (some sites suggested that there is a link between excessive sweating and thyroid problems) - maybe this has something to do with it.

    Apologies to pigs then. :D
