I didnt know weither to put this in here or in sports but here i go, Im 16 and I recently had an operation on my back called a spinal fusion and as a result I dont think Ill be able to play rugby ever again. Is there anyone on boards who had this operation done before and are able to play rugby or any other contact sports like rugby?

My trapeze teacher has broken his back twice from falls and had the vertabrae fused and the only thing its affected is his flexiblity so i think you'd probably be ok after it has healed but check with your physio first

It doesn't just effect flexibility, you can severly damage your spine by taking hits to the back. You need to consult a specialist about this.
Go to your doctor, they should give you a letter, enabling you to visit a specialist. He'll be able to tell you how, if possible, that you can play again.

    Ask your doctor.

    Moved from PI.

You should still be getting at a minimum 3 monthly outpatient checkups with your surgeon and at the next visit, ask him. You will also still probably be getting rehab physiotherapy and that is another port of call. Depends on the nature of the surgery, which cannot be determined over the internet unfortunately.
