Can't give you info (i'm only joining myself after leaving cert). The Kingfisher in renmore, http://www.kingfisherclub.com/ . They asked me my age, i said 17 and they said €280, not sure if it's more for 18+. Gym seems good from the window (total noob here), they got TV's on all the machines :D

Galway City gym is very good.
Not sure of the prices, but for a day visit for me( a student) I think it was 5-6 EUR. not too bad. It has loads of free weights and a good few machines. I think it gets pretty packed after 6 so you'd be better go earlier. Only thing is though, there is no pool, unlike the kingfisher, but I havent been to the kingfisher cos they don't do day visits for the gym, just the pool.

The galway lawn tennis club gym is great plenty of weights and cardio machines. it costs 330 a year i think. main thing is it doesn't get too packed so u don't have to wait to use equipment - the number one cause of gym related homocides in europe!

Does anyone know anything about the Clybaun gym?. Its really close to my house and I was thinking of joining it but I've heard its expensive enough. Got good facilities though (i.e. gym, pool, steam room etc).

yeah i live near the church in knocknacarra. i went to the clybaun gym on a free pass. i nice and clean/modern but there is no heavy dumbells, no free bench, no squat rack, no cable crossovers and mabybe only 8 machines. The membership costs 700 euro i think - daylight robbery.350 euro galway lawn tennis club nuff said
