It must be your age. Alzheimers and all that. Some FFers are sound, but only outside their FF burden.

    remember transformers
Is it not the greatest cartoon/show ever?
    james bond junior?
O yeah, not bad, bit on the stupid side, but compared to modern cartoons it was excellent(we were really spoilt back in the day...)

Not according to E4 top 100 cartoons of all time: It's about 30-odd..

The lyrics to the theme tune of that are second only to captain planet..

    Bond, James Bond Junior.
No one can stop him but S.C.U.M always tries,
Young Bond cuts through each web of spies.
He learned the game from his uncle James
Now he's heir to the name.
    James Bond.

    Bond, James Bond Junior.
    look out hes coming through,
he's got a job to do.
    while he rescues the girl!!!
    James Bond Junior chases S.C.U.M.
    Around the World!"

yeah it wasn't good as in thundercats/bravestar/..... but compared to dragonball z and that crap it's very watchable.

Best Cartoon Ever Besides the obvious ones....Homemovies .

My faith in E4 being able to decide the top 100 cartoons is lacking....Transformers is the greatest. QED.

Actually its not that i don't even trust them, but this list is laffable, there is no way in hell those are the top 3 cartoons of all time.
The lyrics to the theme tune of that are second only to captain planet..
    ...
Class i was going to try do the theme tune by heart, but i spose this is better...

They should show re-runs of Transformers to show kids today what cartoons are supposed to be like

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,648 ✭✭✭desertcircus

To return to what the thread was for a while...

I know this is cheating and shouldn't be counted for the purposes of counting who you've seen, but while in the GMB I've met:
    Clare Short
    Niall Quinn
    Newt Gingrich
    Col. Tim Collins
    Neil & Christine Hamilton
    Jack Charlton
    FW de Klerk
    and others.

I forgot - also met the Edge, and Bono sat two seats from me for the Salman Rushdie interview last year.

Anyone remember Children of the Sun? 'children of the sun, our journey's just begun, something, something, something....city of gold'. Strange cartoon, there were aztec buildings and some sort of aeroplane type thing in it.

Or, 'ulysess' (sp? brain fried today), about this guy with a beard and a ship full of people in strange stasis like sleep, with a little red robot. 'uly-seas-seas-sease....travelling through the galaxease-ease-ease'

it's sort of strange how well i can remember the theme tunes to cartoons i watched years ago, but currently equations desert me...

What was that eco-program where the elements of earth, wind, water and love joined together to combat evil?

Or that children's show where these bunch of continent-wide kid-detectives went all around Europe solving crime? I remember they came to Dublin once.

OOH and that new-agey kinda sci-fi program where these people from the '90's were transported back to the middle ages somehow? Spellbound or something I think it was called.

And let us not forget that quiz show with Ray D'Arcy? Jungle World or something? And the short-lived follow-up, the crazy strategy-game where a question right resulted in a place on this grid, which you had to fight over for control of.

And have ever, ever felt like this? When strange things happen, are you going round the twist? :).

What the hell was the beef with the "heart" dude in Captain planet??

I mean the rest of them had fine powers.. moving earth and making tornadoes and whatnot, burning and drowning pollution baddies. But the little heart dude.. what's his uber-amazing power???.. Talking to monkeys.

The kid is useless, he should just kill himself or work in a zoo or something..
