    Batman and Robin. By miles.
    Zardoz comes a close second.

No way guys, your choices are merely below average...
Wanna feast your eyes on really f**king awful film-making?

    House of the Dead.

"Sh*t" doesn't begin to describe what I think of this so-called movie...

    Human Traffic...

A full cinema emptied and left me and my three mates and another couple as the only people still there at the end - and the only reason I didn't leave was because I didn't want to walk home. Only people I've ever met who like it were junkies or aspiring junkies...

So many...and I agree with a handful of movies mentioned here, some I haven't seen.
One of the least enjoyable movies I've seen is definately Van Helsing though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,201 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Very subjective question...

You'd need to watch every film ever to make a decision! (not to mention Karl Hungus's and MobileInfantry's B-movie collection... :D..... B for 'bad!')

Somewhat true, but you guys are clearly not the fans of "Cheap" cinema that I am....by god, I've seen, and own, movies that make crap like House of the Dead look like oscar winners

A little nugget of crap called "Deep Freeze" or possibly "Total Reality" are the worst I've ever seen.

The worst film i've ever seen in terms of my personal tastes is "Napoleon Dynamite" but in terms of script, acting and general badness it's got to be "Bram Stoker's Dracula" resplendant(sp?) with Keanu Reeves in all his "moving-my-head-from-side-to-side-and-looking-confused-is-all-the-acting-anyone-could-ever-need" glory

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

I just noticed that Sky Digital have sneaked in a new movie channel called Bad Movies. It's on channel 339 and shows nothing but crap.

Yeah, but some ****e is so crap, you have to watch it to have a laugh.

have you ever seen Terror Firmer? it's the greatest crock of ****, but it's almost brilliant too. Lemmy from Motorhead, Ron Jeremy and Lloyd Kaufman are in it.

Here's a link to it Terror Firmer

What has Human Traffic got to do with junkies? It's about modern youth/clubbing culture. Maybe you're thinking of Trainspotting.

The worst move I ever saw would be between Battlefield Earth and Blair Witch Project 2. The only reason I'm not including Battle Royale 2 is because I didn't even make it halfway through it :/

    What Dreams May Come?

    What ****e.

Jason X woulda been there except it totally redeemed itself with the sleeping bag scene.

    Although i liked Human Traffic!

Sorry but the one that topped it for me was the terrible film 'Signs' with mel Gibson.
I mean it was even the funny-bad type of film like Braindead or Jason.

    I'd have to say:
    1. Birth (Nicole Kidman....words can't describe how dull and sh!t this film is!)
    2. Robocop 3 (nuff said)
    3. Peaches (pure tripe)

    IMHO

Van Helsing (fell asleep during it twice in the cinema)
    Battle Royale 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,713 ✭✭✭Cianan2

A film called "Xchange". Absolute ****, i dont know why we rented it in the first place.....oh, i do! Because it said "A cross between "The Matrix" and "Face-Off"!!!" on the cover. It was nothing like either movie, because it was utter crap.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0242150/ Stephen Baldwin, that was his name. Hes a bloody lamp-post.

    Signs.

Absolutely fantastic film, does a wonderful job of building tension...and then you watch the last five minutes.

The Avengers was the worst movie ever made. This is not my personal opinion - this is FACT.

I forced myself to watch 80 of the 89 minute running time. I came so clsoe to watching it all. But I physically couldn't.

Perhaps a lot of this may be down to an hour being chopped off it after some test screenings. But dear god its bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,304 ✭✭✭✭koneko

Toys was woeful. It's been a long time since I've seen it though, and I might have missed some subtle points or undertones, but I remember it being an absolute disaster of a movie.

Battlefield Earth is just hilarious, in a bad way, and sorta makes you feel even worse when you think about the connections to Scientology.

House of the Dead, I thought this was going to be "so bad it's good", but it looped right back round to being bad again. At least some of it was so bad it was funny.

    Oh there are hundreds..
here are a few that I had the unfortunate 'pleasure' of paying to see in the cinema..

    Wrong Turn
    Darkness Falls
    The Texas chainsaw Massacre Remake
    Batman & Robin

but I do agree that some crap films can be great

For the Love of the Game.

It isn't just one single bad movie (as you might have expected) but somehow it actually manages to be TWO terrible movies cut and shut together to make a total that's even less than the sum of it's individual parts.

I defy you to watch it and then not feel angry at me afterwards for suggesting you do so.

That said tho it probably could be of some use as a drinking game as it must hold the world record for 'most cliches per minute' in any film ever made?

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126916/ (I'm sure that's meant to be a '0.61' not '6.1'?)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,304 ✭✭✭✭koneko

Eek yeah, and scary to think Sam Raimi directed that one.

The worst proper cinema film i've seen is without doubt (and im amazed it hasn't been mentioned) Anaconda!

The Time Machine is up there too, seemed to be just 2 totally different movies jammed together, 1 half bout the machine and looked to be going somewhere, then "era sure lets just make a saving a pre/posthistoric civilisation movie with terible terible acting and nonsensically having them able to speak english..".

Battlefield Earth fits there too. Neanderthal man learning to fly fighter jets expertly givin a few days on flight sims...sigh...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭youcancallmeal

Has to be charlie's angels:full throttle
The first was bad enough but dear god the second was just terrifyingly bad. Whoever made these films just had no respect for the audience at all. There is no plot and very little makes sense throughout the film. But when i was 'forced' to watch it i knew it was going to be bad so at least i could prepare myself by switching my brain off.

Films tend to be a lot worse when your expecting something really good from them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,460 ✭✭✭Ishmael

its a tie between these 2 for worst film ever.

Requiem for a dream, that film should be erased from history.

The Postman, you get to watch kevin costner do nothing interesting for about 2 hours.

    Empire record is GREAT.
    "Whats with you today?"
    "Whats with...today, today?"

Worst movie ever...has to be ghost world. OR, coming a close second, billboard dad. The Olsen twins one. Or for that matter, any Olsen twins movie. Or Lizzie Maguire. There's just so many!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,036 ✭✭✭garred

Worst movie ever is Jackass. What a bunch of tossers.

Don't recall saying it had anything to do with junkies  - I said the only people I've ever met who liked it were junkies... had good soundtrack, **** acting, script and everything else though... was seriously pain inducing - and about 200 other people on the night agreed with me.

Next up would be Queen of the Damned...

Lost in Translation was just pants.

    All Harry Potters are terrible.

    Garfield was muck too.

    Batman & Robin
    Mortal Kombat

well basically anything that Paul W.S. Anderson had something to do with!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,246 ✭✭✭✭Riamfada

Oh that and Cabin Fever. The one where everone starts getting sick and dies. Its apparently a horror yet just as the movie is about to get good it ends. For no apparent reason it just ends. What a load is all I can say. That and Eraserhead! Boo Urns

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,391 ✭✭✭arbeitsscheuer

I'd like to add Starship Troopers 2 to my choice as well...
    Abysmal, truly abysmal...

It's a toss up between ST2 and HotD for the title of worst film ever tbh.

P.S. For the record, I loved Empire records, Human Traffic (and no, I'm not a junkie, kdevitt) and Requiem For A Dream - All of which have been nominated on this thread as worst ever. Some of you have no taste... :p
