I would think there is no low carb diet that is good, carbs are essential and if you or anyone can show any scientific proof that there is benefit to this I will eat my proverbial hat
Bodbuilders ripping before competition cut way back but this is extreme form of training.
Consult any good book on diet - avoid specific diet books like atkins (this is a billion dollar corporation who want you to eat their way), read some non-partisan literature and avoid low carb "diets" like the plague

Why do you want to try? If its weight loss go to the gym, carbs are what give you energy (loose description I know)

its to lose weight but mostly i want to get fit,ive started on my home trainer 2 months ago and in the 1st 3wks i lost a stone, and from then to now im still only at a stone losted, and my ating habits have not changed.

i can feel the strength in me when i cycle around, and am not as wreck i used to be,so i know theres strength i have build, but im not sure if at this stage if im building muscle(in my lower-body) and thats why im not losing weight, but i still have alot of fat around the ass & thighs

    Whoops!!!

Same thing though a low cal diet will leave you tired (but I guess that depends on how you define low cal!!)

I try to choose carb foods that are high in fibre when I'm trying to lose weight and avoid sugary stuff.

well the ONLY way to lose weight is to reduce your calorie intake on a daily basis, either by burning more through exercise or eating less. Finding a balance between eating less and more cardio exercise is how I lost 2 stone. There is no other way to lose weight, I can't believe how many people are conned by these STUPID diets.

I think weightwatchers is basically ok, but every single person i know who did it ended up putting all the weight back on. They are good for basic weight loss, but very poor at changing long term habits. The fact that they now sell a large range of prepackaged foods doesn't encourage me either.

Consider a "healthy eating plan" rather than a diet. Try to eliminate processed, prepackaged foods and takeaways. Switch refined carbs to unrefined ones. Practice portion control. Cut anything very high in fat or sugar down or out. There are a lot of lovely vegetables out there now easy to get but rarely eaten - asparagus, courgettes, augergines, butternut squash, etc. They are lower in fat/sugar than carrots, parsnips and less bland. Also lots of in season fruits such as peaches, apricots, plums and cherries. More intersting than a banana. I cut out pasta, white rice, white bread and replaced with no more than one portion of whole grains - millet, buckwheat, quinoa, bulgur wheat - actually delicious and easy to cook.

If you start out by writing down what you eat every day for 2 weeks and then measure out what your average calorie intake is. Then cut 300 calories a day off that. That alone will knock off 1 pound in under 2 weeks. Along with plenty of cardio you might be able to get off 5-8 pounds a month on that alone.

cardio and exercise will always be the better option but weight watchers is good for losing weight but peopl once they lose the weight usually at normal again and dont tak into account all the fats and carbs etc they ae eating! its not a flaw in weight watchers its a flaw in the peoples thinking!

What I'm finding is working quiet well at the moment is just eating breakfast lunch and dinner, cutting out all the **** in between, such as sweets crisps bars etc, and doing a bit of exercise.

ALWAYS remember when you are looking for a low calorie diet that it must be nutritionally balanced. It is tempting to slash all fat and carbohydrates but a bad idea. Greatly reduce, yes, totally cut out, not good.

Eating a portion of oily fish once a week is a good idea for omega 3 fatty acids. it does have fat, but remember its a portion once per week.

Slash the snacks. Absolutely no snacks and no fizzy drinks..... eat an apple instead if you get a real hunger craving and drink water or diluted fruit juice (similar taste, but diluted)......
