Can someone advise me on the best belt to get and where to get it for squats, deads and Olympic lifts.
m definitely not happy with my current one as its has a puffy cushion inside it which makes it too heavy really to get tight and it keeps slipping up. I havent used it in months.
Would just a plain heavy leather one be better?
Anyway what do you use/recommend and just as importantly what can you lift with it?
Im going for a 200kg squat soon and i think a good belt might give me a few extra kilos.
    thanks

Inzer lever belt. Friend has one and it's the best belt I've ever used.

However you'll probably need to order it direct from Inzernet and they're not cheap.

If you're squatting that much you should know a belt won't help you squat heavier. They're for lumbar support and integrity, they're not designed to help you lift heavier. A squat suit however, will.

Ive squatted raw for ages now and just 2 nights ago repped out 7 @ 170kg with a narrow stance and hams parallel. As soon as i get spotters, belt and decent preparation i'll be going for it.

The reason im after a good belt is cause im actually scared sh!tless of missing a squat and ending up on my knees. ive only ever done it once before and it was scary so whenever i feel even remotely close to going i drive back up. im hoping the belt can give that bit extra confidence to get parallel. i really think if i can get over my fear i can lift a good weight

Thanks logic, i'll look into that inzer belt. hows your training coming on? you were to do a website werent you with your progress? hows that goin?

why be afraid of dropping too deep and not getting back up from the bottom of the squat?

Get yourself into a rack and set up the pins for the right level and there are no worries about letting it go.

Also a good spotter who knows HOW to spot while squatting is crucial i.e not holding the blood bar! BTW what do you weigh?

By the way, going for a max squat is a lot mental, don't be phased by the weight on the bar. It might help to use 15s and 10s to make it look lighter. Also, when you go to the bottom don't pause to see if you're about to fail... do it steady and drive like crazy at the bottom unless you feel any pain in your lower back (I just add this because doing this gave me an injuered sciatic nerve for months).

thanks lads, my inzer is on the way. got some knee wraps too so maybe i can do it someday.
    i weigh 83kg @ 11% BF, 5 10.
I dont really have access to a good squat rack. and the one i use is too low. i reckon if iwas on my knees the bar still wouldnt touch the safety bars. bit crap but anyway.
