re the nice picture of a corvette posted by do more

I smiled and thought of the old line "saw your Solara outside the massage parlour"

actually the line mentioned a wh..ehouse, have put in massage parlour to be p.c.

No wonder he used his fingertips to open the door, probably a bit tired!

    lol

He was actually coming from the supermarket on the other side of the carpark, the "parlour" was closed as it was a bank holiday here, you can see that he picked his spot carefully so that no one could park beside it and risk getting it scratched.

Saw this ex-army vehicle today, no badges but I suspect it is a Volvo.

    And a Cortina has!!??lol
Cant imagine anyone outside of Ireland and UK who would look twice at a Cortina regardless of age.
Bland, cheap at the time, characterless,no power, bog standard equipment zero style in fact had absolutely nothing going for it.
    Each to their own.

Agreed. A mass market Ford is just not a classic in my book. Same for the Escort, Capri, Sierra, Granada, etc. Cosworth models excluded, of course.

    Still, each to their own.

    Leap (west Cork) today

    IMG_3779.jpg

Parked outside the pub just around the corner from that Volvo (you can see the sign on yellow building in the distance - just compare it with the first picture of the Volvo)

Baltimore (west Cork) - wheels are small bit rusty, but overall condition is quite good..

    IMG_3811.jpg

I also saw a red Jaguar E-type convertible few km after Skibbereen on the way to Baltimore.. I was driving so no pic unfortunately

The Potsdamer Platz traffic light tower made by Siemens AG that replaced the old tower that once was build there in the 1923 and removed in 1936.

On 26 September 1997, a replica of the tower was erected by built after the old blueprints, close to its original location by Siemens, to celebrate the company's 150th anniversary.
The replica was moved again on 29 September 2000, to the place where it stands today

Now that Datsun is a rare find!

Cant recall when I last saw one of those 'alive'!

(Actually come to think of it I can recall...a retired guy in Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow had a mint dark blue 4-door version up to circa 1995;)

Think Sweden / Nordic countries have a love affair with Yank tanks, but maybe they garage them in the winter months ??

Most classics seem to be smaller than their modern cousins - Compare a Corolla K20 to a new one, Corsair to a Focus saloon, Zodiac to a Mondeo etc

But look at the average Irish person now compared to their Grandparents :eek:

I see a XJS (full) convertible most mornings and I have to say the side profile (random car pic) is absolutely gorgeous. It really is beautifully designed.

Another one on the list. :pac:

My local car club had another one of their summer evening meets this evening. I didn't realise it was on, so just popped in for a quick look and took a few snaps with the phone. Sorry the quality isn't great, the low evening sun and the crowds didn't help. I've tried not to double post cars I posted at last years show or the recent one in Trelleborg. So nice cars and a few rarity's such as the genuine Shelby 350GT convertible and the '70 Matra M530A one of 2,062 produced.
