It's already on the road. They use it to tow stationary engines to various shows around the country.

All that needs to be finished off is the interior, which is fairly rough.

August 1974 – July 1975, from Bristol. Not sure what the thing on the left side is, some flag?

Edit: Might be flag of Cornwall, I guess the car moved further west over the years...

Yeah, I remember seeing that when I was delivering concrete round there back in May last year.

If it's an auto then it'll be a BW35 three speed internals chucked in a TIS (transmission in sump) arrangement. With those B series autos, the transmission oil supply is completely separate from the engine oil.

Had a 1973 Austin 1800 Mk3 manual with PAS. great fun and immensely chuckable. Tardis like interior. The previous owner lived in Milton Keynes (roundaboutville) and had a 10" Mountney steering wheel on it. :D

Regarding the BMC or BL 1800

Dont under estimate these. Comfortable cruiser. had a Wolseley 2200 version for a while. Wish i had it now.

Think from distant memory that the 1800 won the London to Sydney rally(or did nt)

    regards, Rugbyman

Nothing wrong with posting the Fiesta!

Is it me, or is their alot more W123's going around these days than there was before? Maybe it's the recession!

Lovely 911 indeed, never seen it before. I have seen the DB6 a few times. Doesn't the exhaust look rather ungainly on the back end though ?

    My w201:

Not sure if it is a classic, but I think even the purists will give it some credit.

I bought it from adverts. It is an original Irish 2.6 "Sportline", has had 3 owners, the first had it for 8 years the second for 10. To the ill informed (which I was until the other day) it has the suspension and steering box from the 16v, recaro seats and other unusual bits and pieces. It needs some tidying, but hopefully i'll have it immaculate and it will be my daily driver by the end of the year. If anyone knows of one being broken I would love to hear.

Aidan Buckley on the old Mallow road scraps old Mercs and would have what your looking for I'd say, also Autozone in Little Island still do spurious stuff for them too as far as I know.

Thats a lovely car Maidhc, looks very straight. The W201's are just a lovely quality motor and the 2.6 is very smooth indeed.

Not to be pedantic but the Sportline does not have the "Cosworth" suspension. It DOES have the same anti roll bars and its features lower ride height springs and uprated shocks, but the Cosworth has many different parts including bigger bushings and a complete self levelling rear suspension set up with LSD. The steering boxes are the same and this makes the Sportline much nicer to drive.

Well wear and best of luck.

That W123 looks in nice shape, pity about the grille star !
