I usually only get 5 - 6 hours sleep when I have work the next morning, but 2 or 3 bottles of BPM during the day and I'm fine!

Rofl precise answers BlitzKrieg, where you expecting an exam on this? I sleep about 7 to 8 hours a day. I'm happily unemployed so it doesn't matter to me :D

    12-7am
On ave. 7 hours weekdays, an extra hour weekends.

I probably usually go to bed between 12am and 2am on weeknights, it can take between 2-3 hours for me to get to sleep though... I wake up several times during the night and it often takes me some time to get back to sleep. And I wake up at around 8am and can't get back to sleep even though I don't really have to be in work till 10am and it only takes me 20 minutes to walk there.

I guess I have alot of things preying upon my mind....

you try justifying why you sleep in so late at weekends. I have to explain my sleep scheduale to my housemates on a almost weekly basis (they have some bizarre *proud to be insomniacs* thing going)

Anything from 3 to 10 hours a night, with an average of about 6.

    Mon-Thurs: 10-11am to 330-4pm
on one of these days i might possibly get 5 whole hours in but will undoubtedly be woken during them by my housemate looking for something ridiculous that definitely doesn't warrant waking me.(all the fu(king time)

    Fri 9am-2pm
Sat and Sun i'd be lucky if i slept both nights but the odd time might get an 8hr in there somewhere.

    Fu(kin working nights blows ass.

Anyone know if its possible to die from sleeping this little cause i feel like i'm on the way out.

monday to friday generally about 3-4 hours a night.

Before I quit my old job about 2 months and some days ago.... I would have to have at least 12-15 hours of sleep a day. Work, shower sleep. It sucked the life out of me. work am-5pm. sleep 6pm-8am
nowadays, as long as I get in a nap (2-3hours) and regular sleep hours maybe 4-8 hours I am dandy. I NEED MY SLEEP!2am-11am isn't too bad.

During work, 6-7 hours if I'm in the gym the next morning, 7-8 hours if I'm not. 8-10 hours on the weekend, though it can give me a headache if I sleep for too long.

yeah, what the fúck is that all about. I know a good few people like that that keep calling me a "light-weight" if I go to bed early (which is about 5am at weekends). the sad bastards think there great if they can stay up later than everyone else(even though they dont get up till about 4pm the next day).

anyway 9 hours is great for me but most of the time (mon-fri) I only get about 7

*Need* 10 hours? There's something wrong there :)
Assuming you don't have any medical conditions, I'd look at changing your diet or getting more exercise. Laziness breeds laziness. I remember just after I left college and was a jobless bum, I slept about 11 hours a day and I was still tired :)

My brain refuses to switch off when I go to bed. On average, 1-2 hours it takes me to get to sleep, though I count lying still and thinking as sleep, since my body's resting, that's enough. I've no trouble with waking up in the middle of the night, quite the opposite. Unless someone else is in the bed, I'll be clinically dead until the alarm goes off.
Then my brain refuses to switch on.

I need a good 7-8 hours, otherwise I'll be wrecked the next day, at the weekend I could spend at least 10 hours asleep, easily stay in bed till 1 or 2.

Bout 6 hours a night weekdays and anywhere between 8-10 on weekends

I tend to read and watch TV in bed a lot though, and I have a laptop with a wireless connection so all I need is a mini-fridge and I'm sorted! :D

Weeknights, I go to bed between 12am and 2am, and get up at 8am. 6 to 8 hours sleep I think is enough for me. If I've been to the gym in the evening, then It'll be closer to 12am rather than 2am.

Weekends, I don't get up till around 1.30pm, or 2pm. I'm usually in from the pub at around 4, so I get a good amount of kip, albeit a drunken slumber..

    Kevin.

Aren't you meant to get at least 8 hours sleep per night? When I was in college I'd tend to get 8-10 hours sleep, but the last month I've been working full time and it's more like 4-6 hours sleep and I feel constantly tired. I think that's more a product of lack of stimulation in work though, I've had the odd early night, 10 hours sleep before work and still wrecked, then at weekends when doing stuff I've been fresh as a daisy on 4 hours sleep or less...

I saw a documentary on Sleep disorders recently. Apparantly 8 hours is the recommended amount, and if you get say 7 hours sleep, then you have a 'sleep debt' of 1, and so on. This accumulates over time (up untill such time when you get a decent nights sleep), and the higher your sleep debt, the more likely you are to suffer from side effects of lack of sleep..

    K.

    Edit - Sleep Debt

I hate to know what my sleep debt would be?

Oh to have 8 hours sleep a night would be great ... normally I'm trying to function on 5/6 hours a night [bed for 12/1am & up for 6am for work again]!!

The worst thing for me is that I'd sit up all night watching sh!te tv rather than going to bed

No you should hear some of the ones i get. One guy stands by it that he doesnt sleep at all. That he's a full on insomniac. But he says it like its something to be proud of. The other guy is'nt so bad. But he has this thing about only sleeping 3 hours a day. and will always wake up at 7am regardless of what time he went to bed.

I'll be honest if i go to bed late, i'll get up late, if i go to bed early i'll get up early. It really makes me want to knock out the guy who believes he's a full on insomniac.

(whats the mental disorder where you have to believe something is unusual/wrong about yourself. I think he suffers from it)
