    Paranoid Visions Resurrected:

With the imminent release of a back catelogue CD, veteran punk band Paranoid Visions are set to hit the road. Punk’s not dead and neither are veteran Dublin spiky-hairs Paranoid Visions who are hitting the comeback trail in support of a single CD containing all of their back catalogue. It’ll be the first time that the original line-up of Deko, P.A., Caff and Dan D. Lion have been in the same room as each other since 1990. "There was always a lot of tension in the band at the time and it was entirely justified as we were always a nasty bunch of slagging ****ers to each other", says Deko, ever the silver-tongued devil. Provisionally-titled Outside In: Vinyl 1986 – 1989, the everything including the kitchen sink collection includes the Running Amok EP, City Of Screams and I Wallow mini-albums and their only full-length release, Schizophrenia.

Are they nazi punk or was it just some art work that got them the tag?
I've never listened to them so dont know.

With 21 former members to choose from it's not an issue, Beano & Pete (BOW), are not named as being in this line-up of Paranoid Visions (which was the original thread).

Yes Striknein are doing the Wasted Festival this month in the UK, so Deko is double jobbing and Pete / Beano. But so are BOW so no issue.

Na to nazi stuff, should be better remembered for some craking tunes a lot of attitude and of course their version of Jah War!

Whereas Parnoid Visions for putting Bono's hackles up, for the Flake Advert track, for the first punk song sung in Irish etc.

    Looking forward ...

They just have one piece of artwork by Boz with a priest doin the auld 'Sieg Heil!', which was totally taking the mick. Theyre in no way Nazis. There is no such thing as nazi punk in any real sense of the word anyway.

I'd love to hear Paranoid Visions.

    Good God Help Us.

I remember recording a single at Sonic Studios in 1990, the engineer there played drums on their later releases. They were working on a concept rap album about the Gulf War. It was without doubt the funniest thing I've ever heard. Cider Punk at its worst.

and I won't tell them to **** off because Peter Cortner happened to be in my favourite band ever.

They originally had it hosted but then things got ****ed up and now they are hostless..

thats ****in deadly...is that a description of paranoid visions? although if you had said we sound like a ghettoblaster of ranting alcoholic bums being played in stephens green by an 80s punk rocker, it would be more accurate.

We loved doing the gig! we have a video from the side of the stage too...the camera definately adds 5 pounds to me anyway!

    next stop amsterdam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good god, that takes me back. They must be in their mid 40's by now.

Reminds me of that Vic Reeves song "I Remember Punk Rock".

I remember Stricknenin DC when i was a kid. The bass Player, Peter Townsend, used to live near me. [SNIP] i remember there were two punk nights there in 1997 and bands like Monkhouse, The Steam Pig and Stricknein DC played on the same bill. Those were the days! it brought quite a following from Dublin and other parts of the country to my Tiny home town, Any body remember those gigs?

The guy was clearly just not ready for the radical direction that PV were taking. He was probably in a rap group 2 months later when it because fashionable!
