Quite simple really, do you like his music and is he comparable to Damien Rice or Jeff Buckley. Personally I think some of his songs are quite good such as "Instant Pleasure", "Across the Universe" and "Cigarettes and Choc Milk". Oh and lets not mention "Hallelllujah" :)

Know I'm a bit late coming in on this but just joined! Oh my God I love Rufus Wainwright! The Vicar St. gig was brilliant! I was up the very front at the bar and wow what a view I had at the end(u know what I mean!).

On the above arguments, lets just leave the comparisons alone and rate each artist as a separate entity as personally, I think, they differ quite substantially! Want 1 and Want 2 are fantastic...such a range of genres/styles and the opera influences and everything-wow! Just recently got "Rufus Wainwright" and "Poses" and after only a few listens so far, I'd have to say I prefer Poses, but that's probably because I'm familiar with more of the songs from it! Definitely slow burners though!

Anyone see him on Jools Holland on Friday night(4th)??
