I fail to see your logic Xcom2, your choice of admin is based solely on where a person's posts are most obvious to you? That doesn't seem like a great way of choosing an admin in the slightest.

Kevin, if Trojan was made admin in the morning I'm pretty sure his "idiocy/stupidity is a bannable offence" mantra would cover this entire site.

I've of the opinion if the opinion of the admins feel they need another admin, they'll decide on someone, but that a suggestion could be appreicated. Also I think modding AH should be a form of community service.

Mind you I'm also of the opinion that if DeVore tells us we've always been at war with Eurasia, we've always been at war with Eurasia......

The fourms I usually read are after hours/IoffL/Broadband/PI/Satellite/Horror/Comics/Feedback and Soccer. I would imagine several of those would take up a lot of space here and I dont remember Trojan 's name ever jumping out at me?

I also read loads of others(no offence to Trojan)but his/her name does not stand out!

tbh i've no idea what being an "admin" requires in terms of time, awareness, knowledge, temperment, etc. etc.

There is more to being an admin than just being able to ban sitewise. It's pretty much a full time job. So I suggest someone who has presence on these boards and is qualified. Not just some random person who has loads of posts.

well, ive had a similar chat to someone else about this sort of thing recently.

i dont think there is a need for another admin. what people miss is an ecksor.
run that idea through your head, and let me know what you come back with...

if anyone is mad a cat mod or a 'super mod' or some other such rubbish, i am firmly of the belief that they should do the job of 'an ecksor' in that catagory they are over.

they are not forum moderators.

they should not be deleteing posts, or editing them or moving. thats the job of a moderator. a cat mod is simply someone who has the power to ban in the cases where an admin is not available. ie. in the instances of spamming, racisim, porn etc.

only whne there is simply no other choice, should a cat mod intervene in a forum, other than to sort out requests from moderators.

and thats my opinion.
