I got mine from Easygainer here on boards.

He sells it cheaper than pretty much anywhere I've seen.

man ok heres the cheapest effective one that iv found and guess where you can buy it??? TESCO!!!
    its called CASILAN 90
it gives 24 grammes of protein per serving but i just double the serving!! 4 spoons instead of 2!! works and i checked it out its safe to do!! theres no creatine or anything in it and its cheap!
it costs between 5-7 euros for 250 grammes of the powder! which is very good!
but i must warn it tastes like chalk but iv found that if you get nesquik or something similar just throw in a spoonfull and it tastes...ok! iv come to like it!!

iv tried a few brands but they are all the same only difference is price!!(and mabey taste)

that seems quite good it hasnt as much protein as casilan but it will still work! the best thing about the casilan is that if you want to gain muscle without any fat it has only 0.3 grammesof carbs and 1 gram of fat.
if you are using your protein i would advise to use about 30 grammes of the powder and mix with milk (1 pint super milk is preferable) this should bring the protein total up to about 40 grammes protein total(advisable amount for muscle building) and drink it within about 40 minutes after training for best affect!

But if I use milk, wont that increase the fat content a lot?
It says on the instructions to add only 125ml to water, milk, juice etc, but this makes it very very thick- thicker than a milkshake...

Cas Casilan be got in any tesco? What section/area?

not if you get super milk as it has very little fat! and the more milk the less thick!
yeh it can be gotten in tesco(the one near me anyway) im not sure as to the section i get my dad to buy it for me!

and easygainer i realise itss not as gud quality protein but it does work! iv been using it and iv used pleanty of other brands of protein supplements and i am progressing the same as i was before! i have been on mizusaki and a few others! they are all pretty much the same but 40 euro is a gud deal for what you are offering!

    Good Point :D

    The problem with casilan is:
1 - it's low bv (ie it's not as high quality as whey)
2 - it tastes disgusting (choc mint whey hm)
3 - slow absorbing (good before bed though)

I'm E40 for 5 lbs of ON 100% whey and most people seem to think it tastes great and works for them...

(it's 23g protein per 28g scoop with 1g fat! pm for more info)

What brand is this, I'm using Tony Quinn at the moment but I'm going to change brands soon (Ive seen alot of people blasting Tony Quinns stuff and I havent noticed any great change since starting with it) so I may be interested in buying some off you. Im also looking to get creatine and whey. I was thinking about having a whey supplement (blended with fruit and milk)in the morning and then a protein drink before bed.

Is it possible to survive and feel fed on just protein and other such supplements ? That is to say, can i substitute them for food ? Im sick of being fat and unfit.

Very bad idea. As much as I like to advocate supplements, that's all they are - supplements to a good diet. The closest to what you want are MRPS (meal replacement powders) - these have a good blend of carbs and proteins to substitute a good meal but only if you're on the go.

I've lost a ton of fat in my time and the best way is to aim for 1 - 2lbs of weight loss (which will mean fat loss) per week. Any more and you are losing muscle and water. PM me and I'll send you a good diet if you gimme your age, height and activity level as well as foods you don't like.

Btw I can talk on this from experience cos the first time I really dieted hard I substituted 4 of my 6 solid meals for protein shakes and lost about 4-5 lbs per week but looked soft and drawn and lost strength and energy. This time I've been dieting since January but have kept most of my strength and muscle mass.

the only powder food supplement i have found that you can survive on solely is a powder called complan its not bad to eat and it does come in different flavours but if you realy want to lose weight i would advise exercise!!

and easygainer? dude em im not to sure ut i dont think the mods would like you selling in the fitness section you could get banned id advise you to either get their permission(pm them) or edit your post to a link to the selling area and post it all up there!
but do as you feel im only advising

Rasher - are you a sales person for Heinz Ireland by any chance?
They're the company that distribute 'Casilan 90' and 'Complan' ;)

Seriously though, I used to take Complan a fair bit in college when studying for exams... was helpful to avoid feeling run down during pressure. I guess a lot of people would trust the same brand.

no but do you think i could get them to pay me to be 1?
i just know complan is good because iv used it when i hadnt time to eat or when i was sick and couldnt handle solid food! like you can also use another poder food supplement caused forever light but with that you have to eat a proper meal in the evening aswel! but with complan you dont!

    Check your PM's EasyGainer :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 291 ✭✭kstanl

It depends on what type of protein you're getting. They're meal replacements anyway - not pure protein.

Nature's way are having one of their "sales" at the moment, and their whey protein is reduced to E15.44 for 908g (2 lbs). Strawberry, banana and vanilla flavours I think
