What skipping/jump rope and where can I get it?

I used to jog three times a week for my aerobic exercise but decided I wanted a change. So I took up skipping. Figuring a skipping rope is so simple any one will do I bought one from Argos for E2.99.

A week into my skipping routine (3 times a week before breakfast) I was only able to skip for 10-35 skips before making a mistake. I thought this was part of the learning process until my Mum, in her fifties, decided to have a go, took my little sisters rope and jumped 50 skips no mistake in her first go!

How embarrassed was I?! So I gave my little sisters a go, and first go, skipped 50 times no problem. My E2.99 rope was useless, and, unfortunately hers was too short for regular use.

So, my question is this, What skipping rope would you recommend me and where, in Dublin, can I buy it?

I skip for Aerobic exercise to keep body fat as low as possible but my major aim is increasing muscle mass from anarobic exercise 3 times a week (freeweights) every other day to skipping, Sundays Off.

I don't like to buy things over the internet, so even telling me a shop that would have a selection would be good, in Dublin.

Slightly off topic, Rope Length. I have been told up to your armpits with your foot on the rope. Is that the rope or the rope including the handles up to your arm pits?

not sure about whether the handles are included. I do know that it is har dto get a rope that is over 9ft long in dublin , and that even slightly taller than average people need 10ft ones. You should get a speed rope, not a cotton rope. You can get them in Armotts and the martial arts store near aungier st. Neither have longer than 9ft though.
