Why not get us started with some of your "encounters"? Well, I saw someone from D4 in town the other day, it was hilarious. I mean, seriously, what are we meant to say?

And for christ's sake, learn how to spell, or use a spell checker

Spot on. I'm from the Northside, and Belvederians are definitely of the other ilk. I hear there's even a place in Cork called Montenotte that's wannabe D4. And what a hellish thought that is. Oi think, roish, ye're nothing but a langer like, wouldn't even stand a point of Hoino till Oi get to the drinklink.
Come to think of it, they do have the 'like/loike' thing going on. An unholy alliance.

Hmm, have to set the record striaght here, just becuase Ive allways wanted to take issue with this.

I grew up and lived in D4, but in ringsend. I tells ya, Id love to bring all of you down to the flats some day so we can smoke a joint with the boys. That'll show ya what most of D4 is actually like. The only part of D4 that is actually snobby is the whole donnybrook area. Even sandymount has its hard cases, believe me.
I dunno how D4 got tarred with this brush, when its mainly blackrock, stilorgan, foxrock etc that these IDIOTS come from. Oh how I love to smash little rugby geeks heads in. Just for the sake of it.
Am I a scumbag? I dunno. Dont really care either. Those people are vermin.

Pff, I dont really care what anyone thinks when it comes to this. I actually havent been out scrapping any of those fools in a few years but I used to quite regularly. And to be totally honest, I think they deserve a few digs here and there and most of the time they instigated it. They sail thru life holding daddys hand, makes me ****in sick and the girls are worse. Little sluts going around acting loike americans. Grow the **** up, your a dub, act like it. All the girls are good for is ****ing.

Dont get me wrong tho, I hang around with 1 or 2 people whos parents are millionaires and they're the most down to earth, sound, generous (sp?), decent people, some of my best mates. Its just the snobs I dont like, who have money, know it, and look down their nose at quite a large proportion of the city, calling everyone who doesnt drive a 05 golf that daddys pays for, a knacker or a scumbag. They do my ****in nut in, little **** imo.

In relation to the whole annabels thing. Say for example, that the people who killed him were from a bad area and were broke. How long would the trial have lasted and where would those people be now?
The trial would have lasted 2 days, open and shut case and they'd be in the joy or port laoise for the next 12 years.
    That whole case sickened me.

perhaps and this is just a perhaps... you might be slightly guilty of sterotyping yourself there. No?

Im not guilty of stereotyping really, because I know myself the type of people Im talking about and its not really the vast majority of rich kids in fairness, but a large percentage of em. Its kinda hard to describe in detail the type of muppet Im on about, but I know myself. If ya get me.

And by the way, I dont really take offence to being called scum, because thats sort of what my post implies about me, but Im not really. Im a nice bloke, with a good IT job and I dont talk like a right little scumbag either, but I do have a dublin accent, which Im very proud of. Im actually referred to as a gentleman quite often believe it or not. See, we walk among you ;)

Just as well, cos you're scum. If someone talked about refugees/ people of a different ethnic background the way you just did (their women are only good for ...., I'd love to kick their heads in for the sake of it...and so on) you'd be banned for insightment to hatred, you're a biggot and a thorough scumbag and a disgrace to Ringsend and people with dublin accents.

    Fair enough.
Oh and by the way, Ive a hell of a lot more respect for the foreigners who work for a living in this city. Ive a lot of time for em, unlike the above.
Just my opinion on the matter and it is something I feel (or felt) quite strongly about. Doesnt really bother me too much now that I dont live in or around town, never see em anymore thankfully.

What the f*** is wrong with abercrombie?I'm from Limerick and I wear it all the time - it's cheaper and better quality than the sh*te they push on you over here in jack and jones and RI.I've been wearing it for years, and to be honest have become dismayed by its' explosion up here in the last few years - it's nearly like a 'Badge of Poshness' to have it now, but i'll still wear it, cos it's cheap, and i'm cheap

    Rant over :D

About the whole Annabels trial thing, the whole case was so exploded by the media that it was unbelievably hard for them to get a fair trial either way. Whatever the outcome there would have been a huge amount of people calling the trial unfair.

Also, the gardaí knew well they weren't the instigators of the whole fight, I mean most of the 'confessions' were by people who were so hammered they don't have a clue what happened, and went along with the crowd and either said random names (of people who might or mightn't have been involved) or said some instigating drivel.

Now with a few of them they knew they were guilty of something and went to the gards the next morning, but what about the guy who was there for it all and left for Australia a few days after it happened and hasn't been back to Ireland since?

There's no way you can just disregard the trial because they got off leniently, the fact is that the 4 who were up for trial were part of a much larger group of people who were involved, and they didn't deserve to be banged up for life simply because there's no way it can be proved that they dealt the fatal blows

i've an abercrombie hoody! and i'm not a D4 head. I'm from Drumcondra, D9, Dahling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Funkstard

Oh, and the person who allegedly used to beat up 'D4 heads' based on a completely stereotypical judgement perceivement based on appearance is reallyquite a large hypocrite, who has further backed up my ignorant (yet joking, I don't go around smacking people, far too timid for that) judgement of....'your' kind

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 634 ✭✭✭AB03

Ehh, when did I say that I used to beat up d4 heads based completely on appearance?

First of all, my original point was that the term 'D4' head is inappropriate. Im from feckin D4 to start with and there are very few actual snobs (or anyone resembling a snob) living in D4 believe it or not!
Walk around ringsend, irishtown, beechill, even sandymount to see what I mean.

Secondly, we used to beat up snobby ****ers for fun because it was so easy to get into a fight with these types.
When I say 'these types', I mean, the type that will consider anyone wearing a tracksuit and talking with even the faintest dublin accent, a scumbag (and this will usually only happen when they're drunk and they have some balls). All we had to do to get into a fight with these idiots was walk by em on a saturday night in donnybrook or wherever and the big man of the group would mouth somthing. We rarely instigated any of these fights (but Im not going to lie, it has happened).

I can remember one particular group who started the whole thing by saying somthing along the lines of "at least we all have the money to go to college"!
    Hahahahaha, that made me laugh!
Considering that of the 4 of us that were there that night, I was the only one not in college (cos I was working for bank of ireland at the time). 2 were in UCD (philosophy + chemistry), the other in DIT (cant remember what he does).

If anyone is guilty of stereotyping, its the idiots who made such comments and the likes of those who still do every day (although the group mentioned above would probably piss themselves with fear rather than mouth like that again).

This is like "Which do you prefer, Blur or Oasis" from Fr Ted.

Except subsitute 'Chavs' for 'Blur' and 'Rugger Buggers' for 'Oasis'.

Chavs drop litter everywhere, let their boxers sh1t all over the place and roam in gangs looking for something to take offence at.

RBs descend en masse on match days braying loudly outside Slattery's and parking their BMWs badly.

Which is worse? I'm not particularly enamoured of either.
